SCTC's Summer Children’s Theatre Camps Registration
  • SCTC's Summer Children’s Theatre Camps Registration

  • PLEASE FILL OUT ONLY ONE FORM PER CAMPER, REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF WEEKS THEY ARE REGISTERED FOR.

IMPORTANT: This form contains a release of liability and assumption of risk. Please read each section carefully before signing. If you have questions, contact SCTC at stratcoordinator@saultctc.ca or (705) 257-6145.

Thank you for your interest in the SCTC's Summer Children’s Theatre Camps. A registration form must be filled out for each participant. Payment in full is due immediately. A wait list will be created if the camp reaches capacity.

For those interested in the 2-week intensive camp, an audition is included in the registration process. Please see below for more information.

NOTES ON DATES: Please note that the two-week Intensive begins on Monday, August 3rd, which is a Civic Holiday. Camp will still run that day. We recognize that many families continue to work on the holiday, and we want to ensure care and programming are available.

Additionally, during the two-week Intensive, there may be an opportunity for an additional off-site performance on the Saturday following the camp. This will depend on interest and availability. Families should keep this potential date in mind, and more details will be shared if confirmed.

Cancelation Policy: Sault Community Theatre Centre reserves the right to cancel the Summer Theatre Camp if minimum registration numbers are not met or if unforeseen circumstances arise.

In the event that the camp is cancelled by SCTC, all registration fees paid will be fully refunded to parents/guardians. Families will be notified as soon as possible should a cancellation be required.

If a parent/guardian needs to withdraw their child from a Summer Theatre Camp, SCTC must be notified in writing immediately.

Full refunds will be issued for cancellations received on or before June 1.

Partial refunds may be issued for cancellations received at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of the camp.

Cancellations made less than two weeks before the camp start date are not eligible for a refund, though SCTC understands that special circumstances may arise and will consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Pickup Information

Camp hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Drop-off begins at 8:45 a.m., and pick-up must occur by 4:15 p.m. A valid photo ID is required at pick-up each day. Campers must be picked up by the designated individuals listed on the registration form. To add or remove an authorized pick-up person, please contact us directly. Parents/guardians are expected to arrive on time. Repeated late pick-ups may result in additional supervision fees, as SCTC must ensure appropriate staffing coverage. Families will be notified if late pick-ups become a concern.
  • Medication Policy

SCTC staff do not routinely administer medication. If your child requires medication during camp hours, they must be able to self-administer, or you must discuss specific arrangements with SCTC staff in advance of the camp start date.

  • One-Week Camps

Each one-week camp includes a brief, informal optional information session held shortly before the start of the week (typically the week or weekend prior). This is a chance for our team to get to know each camper, understand their interests and needs, and ensure we are prepared to support the group as effectively as possible from day one. No prior theatre experience is required.

    Two-Week Intensive Performance Camp

The two-week intensive includes a short audition and intake process. This consists of a brief interview and a simple performance activity, which will be clearly communicated in advance. The goal is to ensure campers are ready for a more focused rehearsal process and to help staff thoughtfully place participants within the production. Prior training is not required, but campers should have a genuine interest in performance and a willingness to commit to the creative process.

Registration for the two-week intensive is considered pending until the audition process is completed. If a camper is not able to participate in the two-week program following this process, a full refund will be issued.

  • Additional Support & Individual Needs Information

  • SCTC strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all campers. If your child has specific medical or support needs, we ask that you contact the SCTC team prior to registration so we can discuss your child’s individual situation and determine whether the camp environment is a good fit at this time.

Our goal is to ensure a safe, positive experience for all campers and staff, and these conversations help us plan appropriately and set everyone up for success.

  • Code of Conduct and Removal Policy

  • I acknowledge that my child is expected to:

    – Treat all campers, staff, volunteers, and guests with respect
    – Follow the instructions of camp staff at all times

  • Photography and Media Release

  • During camp activities, rehearsals, and performances, SCTC may photograph or video record participants as part of regular program documentation. Images or recordings may be used for promotional, marketing, educational, or archival purposes, including on SCTC’s website, social media platforms, printed materials, and funding or reporting documents.

No compensation is provided for such use. Participants will not be identified by full name without separate written permission.

SCTC will make reasonable efforts to exclude non-consenting participants from photographs and recordings; however, SCTC cannot guarantee that a child will not appear incidentally in group images.

  • Communicable Illness Policy

  • I acknowledge that my child must not attend camp if they are exhibiting symptoms of communicable illness, including but not limited to fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious conditions. SCTC reserves the right to send a child home if they show signs of illness during the camp day.

I agree to arrange prompt pickup if contacted by SCTC staff regarding my child’s health.

    – Partial refunds may be issued for withdrawals received at least two (2) weeks prior to the camp start date.
