  • 2026 Scholarship Application

  • The AKA Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, Inc. offers scholarships to 2026 graduating high school students who exemplify high scholastic standards as well as financial need.

    Additionally, the AKA Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, Inc. offers scholarships to sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students who exemplify high scholastic standards and financial need.

    The Grateful Scholar Scholarship, Pearl B. Nichols HBCU Academic Scholarship and Hettie Simmons Love HBCU Academic Scholarship are offered to high school students and the Grateful Scholar Continuing Education Scholarship is offered to undergraduate students.

  • Eligibility Requirements

  • GRATEFUL SCHOLAR SCHOLARSHIP


    ·         Applicants must have verifiable proof of permanent residence status in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

    ·         Applicants must be a 2026 graduating high school student.

    ·         Applicants must attend high school located in Dauphin County.

    ·         Applicants must be completing high school successfully with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

    ·         Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

    ·         Applicants must be accepted as a full-time student at a college or university for the upcoming 2026 – 2027 academic year. If scholarship money is awarded, this is the only program that will receive the funds on behalf of the applicant. Proof of enrollment will be required from the recipient.

    ·         Show evidence of academic and personal motivation, good character, and potential for successful matriculation at an accredited four-year college or university

    ·         Applicants must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.

    ·         Applicants must complete and submit a Scholarship Application.

    ·         Be willing to participate in a 30-minute interview.

     

    HETTIE SIMMONS LOVE HBCU ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

    ·         Applicants must have verifiable proof of permanent residence status in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

    ·         Applicants must be a 2026 graduating high school student.

    ·         Applicants must attend high school located in Dauphin County.

    ·         Applicants must be completing high school successfully with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

    ·         Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

    ·         Applicants must be accepted and subsequently enroll as a full-time student at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) for the upcoming 2026 – 2027 academic year. If scholarship money is awarded, this is the only program that will receive the funds on behalf of the applicant. Proof of enrollment will be required from the recipient.

    ·         Show evidence of academic and personal motivation, good character, and potential for successful matriculation at an accredited four-year HBCU.

    ·         Applicants must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.

    ·         Applicants must complete and submit a Scholarship Application.

    ·         Be willing to participate in a 30-minute interview.

     

    PEARL B. NICHOLS HBCU ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

    ·         Applicants must have verifiable proof of permanent residence status in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

    ·         Applicants must attend high school located in Dauphin County.

    ·         Applicants must be completing high school successfully with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

    UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
    GRATEFUL SCHOLAR CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP


    ·         Applicants must be a full-time rising sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.

    ·         Applicants must have verifiable proof of permanent residence status in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

    ·         Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or higher or a letter grade point average of B or higher as calculated by your college or university.

    ·         Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

    ·         Show evidence of academic and personal motivation, good character, and potential for continued matriculation at an accredited college or university.

    ·         Applicants must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.

    ·         Applicants must complete and submit a Scholarship Application.

    ·         Be willing to participate in a 30-minute interview.

    ·         Write an essay that describes your community service experience and explain how you plan to use your future career to give back to your community. The essay response submitted should be a minimum of 500 words with a max of 700.
