In our Montessori classrooms, children have the gift of progressing at their individualized pace. The adult’s role is to prepare the environment to meet the needs of each student, providing work that satisfies those needs. This necessitates that classrooms have an overlap of Montessori materials for students working at all different academic levels while also being developmentally appropriate.
There are materials that appear in both the Toddler and Early Childhood environments. These materials can be a point of familiarity for children as they leave a Toddler environment and transition into an Early Childhood environment.
This workshop will focus on materials in Language (including math concepts) and Practical Life. There will be presentations, discussions, and hands-on practice. Sample materials include 1-to-1 correspondence, classification of objects, pouring, and transfer exercises.
This course is open to Montessori Infant and Toddler and Montessori Early Childhood teachers. Administrators and curriculum support staff are also welcome.
