  • NHIA committees bring together the thought leaders and innovators in home and alternate site infusion therapy and complement and support staff efforts to promote and achieve the association’s mission and vision. These groups are the embodiment of member engagement, pairing the skills and experiences of members with association resources to advance the industry.

    NHIA is accepting applications for volunteer service on several committees:

    • Clinical Practice: Defines and maintains best practice standards for home and alternate site infusion providers and promote an evidence-based practice approach to patient care.

    • Education: Provides direction for the development of various NHIA educational activities and content for venues such as the Annual Conference, NHIA University, webinars, INFUSION magazine, and more. NHIA is seeking volunteers to serve on the Clinical, Leadership, Nursing, Sales and Marketing, and Revenue Cycle subcommittees.

    • Medicare Contractor Advisory Committee: Serves to represent NHIA members to advocate for, clarify, and communicate on Medicare Part B contractor issues, in conjunction with the industry supplier advisory councils.
       
    • Membership Advisory Committee: Serves to open the lines of communication with active NHIA provider and supplier members for the purpose of improving the membership program, and to enhance benefits, communication, and the membership experience.

    • Payer Advocacy and Relations Committee: Serves to conduct outreach to private and government payers, analyze, educate, and advocate on reimbursement and coverage for provision of infusion and specialized pharmacy products and services to alternate site infusion patients. The committee is also responsible for maintaining NHIA’s coding standard. 

    • Quality and Standards Committee: Works to identify, develop, and promote initiatives that enable the collection of industry-wide data to support and validate the quality and value of home and alternate site infusion services. The committee will monitor, assess, and advise on home and alternate site accreditation standards.

    • Sterile Compounding Practice Committee: Advises the home and alternate site infusion industry on scientific and technical issues concerning drug compounding under United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Chapters and as well as sections 503A and 503B of the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
