The Emily Bell Scholarship is a longstanding tradition at VRBC. Started in the early 1990’s, the scholarship honors the memory of Emily Bell, the daughter of Lester and Bridget Bell, charter members of VRBC. To read Emily's story, click HERE.

The scholarship is awarded to one or more graduating seniors from VRBC and is based on involvement and leadership at VRBC, as well as financial need. All applications are due by April 15, 2026.

Financial Information
One of the factors our selection team uses is financial need. Please share with us any information about your financial situation that may be helpful (e.g., you're paying for part/all of college on your own, you have siblings in college, your family has experienced job loss, unexpected medical expenses, etc.) All information will be kept extremely confidential.

Reference Information
Each application requires an online reference from one non-staff VRBC attender. Here's the process:

1) Contact the person you have chosen and ask them if they would be willing to complete an online reference form for your Emily Bell Scholarship application.

2) If they are willing, send them THIS LINK to our reference form. You can also access the reference form on our website (vrbc.net/students).

3) List their name and number in the space below.

4) On or before April 8th, (one week before applications are due) follow up with your reference to see if they have any questions and remind them of the April 15th deadline.

Remember - these adults are blessing you by completing this form! Please honor them by giving them plenty of time...which means asking by March 31st at the latest!
