Neighborhood Power Grant

Neighborhood Power Grant is a short-cycle, rapid-response investments in esteemed neighborhood-based organizations and leaders who mobilize civic participation within a defined local footprint. These grants support small teams collaborating closely with the community to enhance turnout and engagement around pivotal civic events. Provide detailed information about your organization, mission, strategy, partnerships, and funding needs for civic engagement and democracy protection.
1. Your Community & Your Role: (1–2 short paragraphs) Tell us about the community you serve and how your organization shows up for them. Where do you work (neighborhoods or counties), and what should we understand about the local conditions, history, or lived realities that shape civic participation there?
2. What You’re Trying to Change: (1 paragraph) What civic challenge or gap are you focused on right now (for example: low turnout, language access, distrust of institutions, voter suppression, access to information)? Why does this matter in your community?
3. Your Approach: (1–2 short paragraphs) How do you engage people in your community around civic participation? This might include relational organizing, trusted messengers, digital outreach, leadership development, cultural or narrative strategies, or neighborhood-based turnout efforts. If relevant, share how your work reaches people who are often excluded from traditional civic outreach.
4. What You Need to Be More Effective: (Bullet points encouraged) What are the top 2–3 things that would most strengthen your ability to mobilize your community right now? Examples might include staffing support, materials, digital tools, analysis capacity, translation, leadership development, or coordination support.
5. What Success Looks Like: (1 paragraph) At the end of this grant period, what would success look like for your organization or community? How would you know this funding made a difference?

Organizations eligible for Tier 3 typically: Are rooted in specific counties, regions, or multi-neighborhood areas; Have multiple paid staff and/or structured volunteer teams that work in specific communities; Demonstrate consistent civic engagement activity; and are trusted by community partners and coalitions
