Tapestry Singers encourages and supports singers of all backgrounds and abilities. We strive to empower individuals to develop the skills needed to perform confidently and successfully while fostering the well-being that comes from making music together.
This scholarship (each $3,000) is awarded to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate a love of and ability in vocal music, whether or not they plan to pursue music academically or professionally. Recipients should show a genuine passion for singing and embody the mission, values, and joyful spirit upheld by Tapestry Singers. (See below for the Tapestry Singers Mission Statement.)
Please read carefully. There are three parts to our application:
1. Completion of all the contact information questions in the online application.
2. An essay of 500 words or less that describes:
- How your life has been influenced by singing
- How this scholarship will impact/support your future
- Your plans for after high school and in what ways singing will play a part
- Your unique self and spirit, as well as the community and connections that singing has created
(The ideal essay is less of a musical resume and more of your personal insights into your relationship with singing. We are not necessarily looking for the most accomplished singer or someone who plans to sing professionally, but for a student who is joyfully passionate about singing - now and in the future.)
3. A personalized recommendation from a teacher (school-related or private), mentor, or religious leader who has been part of your musical growth and development. This person should know you well enough to describe how you demonstrate or show a “passion for song” and how you exemplify the mission, principles, and joyful spirit upheld by Tapestry Singers. Please complete the teacher information and email address portion of the application so we can contact them with a separate form to submit.
Applications submitted after the deadline of 11:59 PM, April 12th, 2026, will not be accepted.
Questions about the application can be sent to: scholarship@tapestrysingers.org
