  • 2026 MAUI FILIPINO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
    HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

    The Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce Foundation promotes the pursuit of higher
    education by awarding scholarships to deserving Maui students. This year, the
    Foundation will award multiple $1,000 scholarships from funds raised.

    Eligibility Requirements
    To be eligible, applicants MUST:

    • Be a resident of the island of Maui.
    • Be scheduled to graduate in 2026 from a high school on the island of Maui.
    • Have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale (through the 1st semester of 2025).
    • Complete and submit this application form along with all required documents by the deadline: March 27, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

    Important Guidelines
    The Scholarship Committee will determine the eligibility of all applications. Incomplete applications or those that do not follow instructions will not be considered. Please note that no deadline extensions will be granted.

    Our Impact
    Since 1997, the Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce Foundation has provided financial assistance to nearly 300 students. Over the years, our scholars have excelled in higher education and taken on active leadership roles on Maui and in their respective communities after graduation.

    BEFORE YOU PROCEED

    Please gather all your documents before you start. This form will not let you save your progress, so we strongly recommend typing your essay answers in a separate
    document first and pasting them in when you are ready to submit.


    Prepare file attachments:

    High School Transcript - 10%
    Scanned copy of Official or Unofficial Transcript is acceptable and required. Must show at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale (through the 1st semester of 2025).

    Comprehensive Resume - 30%
    Must demonstrate outstanding academic and community involvement - volunteerism, personal growth and development. Highlight involvement in the Filipino community.

    Essay (4 Questions) - 50%
    Each question requires no more than 500 words. Prepare your responses ahead of
    time, then copy-paste them on the appropriate field provided.

    1. Provide a short background about yourself and what factors got you involved in the Filipino community on Maui?
    2. Leaders identify problems and create solutions. Describe a specific need or
      problem in your school or local community that you have noticed. What business, product, service or community organization could you create to address this issue, and how would you implement your idea?
    3. Filipino-Americans are getting more spotlight recognition in mainstream media, sports, government and in various industries! What are your thoughts about Filipino representation today and where do you fit in the big picture?
    4. What is a Filipino value, principle, or ethical standard that you believe is essential for modern businesses or organizations to have? Explain how you would embed this value into your own company culture and why it is important for the future of your industry.

    Two (2) Letters of Recommendation - 10%

    • Letters must be dated, signed, and describe why you deserve this scholarship.
    • Recommenders must not be related to you.
    • How to submit: You may upload the TWO separate files in the designated
      section, OR your recommenders may email them directly to
      mauifilipinocc@gmail.com. If they are emailing the letters, please indicate so in that section.

    College / University Acceptance Letters
    At least one is required. Scanned letters or official emails are acceptable.
