Gesturing Together: Creative Lab EOI
  • Gesturing Together: Creative Lab EOI

by SPACED supported by the City of Canning
  • SPACED is seeking expressions from WA-based early-to-mid career creatives who have a strong interest in creating with others to participate in the first Gesturing Together: Creative Lab, supported by the City of Canning. There are 10 places being offered to local WA artists, in addition to the 10 participating artists from Know Thy Neighbour #4.

The lab is an opportunity for local artists to receive insight, knowledge and guidance when it comes to creating with people in place. The lab will explore collaboration with people and communities to create new artworks across artforms. This includes ideas and projects that focus on social interaction and socially-engaged practice.

Gesturing Together takes place over 2 days and encourages participants to form new lasting creative connections over facilitated conversations, group exercises, peer-to-peer sharing and topics presented by guest artists and experts.

The lab will take place in the Hillview Intercultural Community Centre in Bentley, and lunch catering will be provided.

Artists and creative practitioners working across all disciplines are invited to apply. SPACED aims to support individual circumstances or needs that enable participation in the program. We encourage people of diverse cultural backgrounds, living in regional areas, and people with disability, to apply and to discuss any access requirements with SPACED.

Those interested in being considered are asked to complete a short written expression-of-interest (EOI). Interested participants who would like support or would like to submit their EOI in another format are encouraged to contact SPACED.
