Applicants must have completed four semesters in residence at UNC and 75 credit hours (including placement credits) by the end of the spring 2026 semester and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.000 or higher.
During the fall 2026 term, C-START student-instructors will prepare their courses under the supervision of a faculty mentor. At the end of the fall semester, each C-START student-instructor will submit their syllabus to the C-START oversight committee. Once approved by that committee, C-START courses will be scheduled for the spring.
Student-instructors will receive three (3) hours of graded independent study credit for designing and teaching their courses.
