1) Responsibility
Foundation for Energy Therapies, Inc. (the “Operator”) is responsible for coordinating the practicum and the services described in the practicum materials, which may include training sessions, instruction, handouts/materials, and, where applicable, arranged lodging and/or meals.
Dr. Emma Bragdon is the Co-Executive Director of Foundation for Energy Therapies, Inc. Any hotels, venues, caterers, transportation providers, or other suppliers are independent contractors and are not agents, employees, or joint venturers of the Operator.
2) Nature of the Practicum
This practicum is an educational and experiential training program designed to help participants learn how to support someone in a spiritual emergency. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, psychiatric care, crisis intervention, or emergency services. Participation in this training does not create a clinical provider-patient relationship with the Operator, instructors, or staff.
If you are currently experiencing an acute mental health crisis or medical emergency, this practicum is not a substitute for appropriate professional care.
3) Participant Responsibility for Health and Well-Being
Each participant is solely responsible for their own physical, mental, and emotional well-being during the practicum. By participating, you agree to monitor your own capacity, communicate your needs, and seek outside medical or mental health support when appropriate. You agree that it is your responsibility to determine whether participation is appropriate for you at this time.
4) Liability
The participant agrees that neither the Operator nor Dr. Emma Bragdon (nor instructors, staff, contractors, or venue partners) shall be liable for any damage, loss, injury, illness, death, or expense arising from participation in the practicum, except where prohibited by law.
The Operator is not responsible for the acts or omissions of independent contractors or suppliers, including venues, lodging providers, caterers, or transportation providers.
By participating, you acknowledge that educational and experiential group settings may involve emotional intensity, and you voluntarily assume responsibility for your participation.
5) Confidentiality and Group Participation
To help create a safe learning environment, participants agree to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information shared by other participants during the practicum.
You agree to:
- Respect the privacy of other participants
- Not share identifying personal stories from the group without explicit permission
- Participate in a professional, respectful, and non-disruptive manner
- The Operator reserves the right to remove a participant from the practicum (without refund, at the Operator’s discretion) for behavior that is disruptive, unsafe, harassing, or violates group agreements.
6) Accessibility, Special Needs, and Dietary Needs
The Operator will make reasonable efforts to accommodate accessibility needs and dietary restrictions if notified in advance. However, accommodations may be limited by venue or supplier constraints. Participants are responsible for communicating their needs clearly and as early as possible.
7) Changes or Cancellations by Operator
If the practicum or any included services cannot be provided as planned, or if changes are necessary due to circumstances beyond the Operator’s control (including venue issues, instructor illness, weather, travel disruptions, or other force majeure events), the Operator may make reasonable changes to the schedule, location, format, or included services.
If the Operator cancels the practicum, the Operator’s responsibility is limited to refunding monies paid directly to the Operator for the practicum (unless otherwise stated in writing). The Operator is not responsible for participant expenses not paid to the Operator (such as airfare, lodging booked separately, or other travel costs).
8) Attendance and Schedule Expectations
Participants are expected to attend the practicum sessions in full and to arrive on time. If CE credits are offered, full attendance and completion of any CE requirements may be required to receive them.
If a participant leaves early or misses portions of the practicum, CE credit (if applicable) may be reduced or denied in accordance with CE requirements.
9) Refund Policy
After your registration is accepted, your place in the practicum is reserved. If a participant withdraws in writing more than thirty (30) days prior to the Practicum start date, the participant will receive a refund of all monies paid, less a non-refundable deposit of five hundred dollars ($500).
If a participant cancels within thirty (30) days of the Practicum start date, no refund will be issued, unless the participant’s spot is filled from a waitlist or by another qualified registrant, in which case a refund may be issued, less the non-refundable deposit and any applicable fees.
No refunds will be issued for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures from the Practicum.
Participants who are concerned about potential cancellation due to illness, family matters, travel disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances are encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance and/or cancellation protection, where applicable.
10) Participants
No person other than a registered participant may attend the practicum without the Operator's prior written permission.
The Operator reserves the right to accept or decline registrations at its discretion and to manage enrollment and waitlists.
