As residents of Los Feliz and Los Angeles County, and as loyal patrons of Ye Rustic Inn, we are deeply concerned that the neighbors’ complaints regarding the expansion permit for Ye Rustic Inn, may result in the expansion not being granted. This would result in the existing outdoor seating being removed. This will jeopardize the survival of a beloved neighborhood institution that has served our community since 1971.
Why making this expansion permanent matters:
1. Preserving Community Vitality:
Ye Rustic Inn is more than a restaurant—it is a cornerstone of our neighborhood’s identity. The outdoor seating has transformed the area into a vibrant, welcoming space where families, friends, and visitors gather. It brings energy and life to our commercial district, attracting people from across Los Angeles County who cherish the opportunity to enjoy our city’s beautiful weather in a safe, family- and pet-friendly environment.
2. Economic Stability and Growth:
The expanded outdoor space is essential for local businesses to thrive. It enables Ye Rustic Inn to remain competitive, increases patronage, and generates vital tax revenue for the city. The additional seating encourages guests to stay longer, fostering camaraderie and boosting the local economy. Without this expansion, we risk losing not only a historic business but also the economic benefits it brings to Los Feliz.
3. Safe and Inclusive Socializing:
Outdoor dining has become a necessity for safe social interaction, especially since 2020. The open-air environment is inviting and accessible, making Ye Rustic Inn a preferred destination for residents and visitors alike. The visible, lively patios enhance the sense of community and safety, encouraging positive engagement among neighbors.

A well-managed outdoor space enriches the character of Los Feliz. The welcoming presence of Ye Rustic Inn’s patio and deck not only draws attention to the business but also elevates the desirability and reputation of our neighborhood. We as operators understand that some negligible noise may permeate from the patios and whilst so far it has been proven to register below the legal limit, we will take the necessary steps to mitigate any noise so as not to disturb the residents.
We respectfully urge all concerned agencies to support the outdoor expansion of Ye Rustic Inn. Your support will help preserve a cherished community institution, sustain local economic growth, and maintain the vibrant spirit of Los Feliz.
