    Please fill out this form completely and submit for consideration to be included in our ARTiFACTORY Exhibition in the North Hall at Oliver Art Center. At least two photos must be included of each piece you submit. If you have problems with the form, please email photos of your work to Julie White at Gallery@OliverArt.org.
  • ARTiFACTORY 2026 OPENS APRIL 12th -

    In celebration of the United States’ Semiquincentennial (250th birthday), the fourth annual ARTiFACTORY program is shifting its lens from physical museum artifacts to the power of the American flag.  This year’s theme invites community members to explore the history, symbolism, and personal meanings of the American flag through poetry and visual art. This application is for 2-D, visual art that interprets this theme.

  • SUBMISSION DETAILS: PLEASE APPLY BY 4/4/26

    MEDIA: All 2-D media will be accepted.
    ENTRY: Entry is FREE. Use this online application form and submit your entry prior to April 4th for consideration.
    DROP OFF 4/7: You will be notified via email if your work is selected. Accepted work should be dropped off April 7th, between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. Please label the back of your work with your name and the title.
    SALES: If sold, Oliver Art Center will retain 40% of retail price to be established by the artist. Checks will be mailed to the address provided on your application within 2 weeks of exhibit close.
    PICK UP 5/02: Please pick up unsold work Saturday, May 2nd between 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. OR, if your work is selected to be exhibited at the Benzie Area Historical Society, we will reach out to you with additional details.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR EXHIBITION: Please read carefully -
    All artists must submit photos of the front and back of proposed submissions PRIOR to drop-off date. You will be notified of acceptance via email. 

    • Artwork should not have been displayed at the OAC previously.
    • Any/all artists involved in collaborative work must be listed as co-creators/artists.
    • OAC will only accept work submitted by the original artist(s).
    • Work should not exceed 18" in any direction.
    • Work should be "Gallery Ready" - see details at the end of this application.

  • All submitted work must be ready for display according to the following guidelines:
    • All artwork must have identification (Artist name, title of work) on the back.
    • OAC retains the right to accept or deny work based on content, condition, or presentation.
    • 2D work, including fiber, must be framed or finished and ready to hang with wire or D-rings if heavy (no eye hooks – these pull out too easily). Sawtooth hangers are acceptable on works 12x16 or smaller.
    • All work must be clean and in good condition. OAC will not display work with dirty glass, dusty frames, sculpture with dirt/cobwebs/etc.
    • No wet paintings will be accepted, nor will any work not ready for handling upon delivery.
    • OAC has total and final say in placement of work and use of display elements such as pedestals, etc.
    • All work will be inspected at drop-off to ensure the above guidelines are followed. If there are issues with the condition or framing of the work, you will be asked to remedy the issues and return the work when those corrections have been completed. Thank you for helping us ensure the quality of our OAC exhibits.

  • Sales:
    If work is sold, Oliver Art Center retains 40% of retail price to be established by the artist, the artist retains the remaining 60%. Sales tax will be added at the time of sale and remitted by OAC. Commission checks for sold work will be mailed within 2 weeks of the exhibit’s end to the address provided by you on this form.

  • Terms of Agreement:

    • Oliver Art Center will accept responsibility for the works of art during the exhibition but will not be responsible for any pieces delivered in damaged condition.  We will insure art while in our care per this agreement.
    • OAC will not be held responsible for any damage to works on paper, or of paper, or other fragile mediums that are not thoroughly protected by glass, or acrylic, that completely shields the work from touch, liquid, insects, etc., as in a picture frame, display case, or other highly protective method of presentation. OAC encourages all works of paper and other fragile materials to be protected using the precautionary methods mentioned above, during the entirety of their presence at OAC.
    • The art submitted for exhibition will remain the property of the artist until sold.
    • It is agreed that due care will be taken of each piece of art submitted. However, it is also agreed that OAC, and/or its representatives, will not be held liable for situations over which they have no control.
    • The artist agrees to remove the artwork on the dates indicated above. Oliver Art Center is not responsible (and will not insure) art left on our site past the pick-up due dates and may take possession of the work after 30 days.
    • The OAC gallery committee or jurors reserve the right to the final selection of works.
