Menchie's Motorcycle Meet n' Ride Donation Recipient Application
A note from Wendi Shipley, co-owner of Menchie's Frozen Yogurt in Payson and wife of Craig: "Thank you for applying to be a recipient of the Menchie's Cups Against Cancer Motorcycle Meet n' Ride donation! Your time and story mean a lot to our family. This fundraising event is in honor of my husband, Craig Shipley, who co-founded Menchie's Frozen Yogurt in Payson with me. Craig was diagnosed with a cancer called Squamous Cell Carcinoma in 2017 and was given 1.5 - 2 years to live. Craig felt the traditional therapies of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries wouldn't help him achieve complete wellness, so together we searched for functional medicine therapies and treatments that allowed his body to maintain healthy tissues while targeting only cancerous tissues. Researching and utilizing these treatments helped Craig live another 8.5 years, or 6 years longer than medical professionals estimated. Most of these functional therapies were not covered by insurance or were too new to be considered mainstream. We drained savings and retirement accounts, went into debt, and put a lot of dreams on hold to find a way to pay for the treatments that were helping him heal. One dream that did come true, however, was our Menchie's Frozen Yogurt store. We built it as a place of community and smiles, and Craig loved being here to serve others. Combining his love of motorbiking with the desire to connect with others living to heal their bodies, the Menchie's Meet n' Ride was created. We want to be able to utilize this annual motorcycle ride to bring some relief to someone in need of support while they are also navigating the world of functional medicine and personalized wellness. Now we are inviting any of our neighbors who are battling cancer to please tell us about your journey to wellness. We would love to hear the story of your diagnosis/prognosis, what kind of therapies and functional medicine treatments you may have already done and want to continue and/or what other therapies you are wanting to explore to heal from cancer. Building a support circle with other cancer warriors was very important to Craig, and we are excited to continue growing that support circle in celebration of his life. Applications will be reviewed by Craig's family and a final donation recipient will be selected by May 12th, 2026. On Saturday May 30th, we will donate 20% of net sales at Menchie's Frozen Yogurt in Payson, UT in addition to the rider's registration donations. Again, thank you for sharing your story, or the story of someone you love with us. We are so grateful to be a part of the Payson/Santaquin community! With love, light, and healing" ~Wendi
