• Furry Tattoo Weekend Gallery Show Call

    August 28th to September 21st, 2026
  • Nevermore, the sister retail store + micro gallery next door to Unkindness Art, will be hosting a furry-themed gallery show for Furry Tattoo Weekend 2026! The show will open on the evening of Friday, August 28th with a welcome mixer, featuring light refreshments and drinks. Attendance to the welcome mixer is not required, but all artists are welcome!

The show will run until September 21st.

You can apply to have your art displayed at the gallery show using this form. We have changed the way the art gallery operates this year-- we simply have too many great artists and limited space!

  • Are you submitting already completed work to this gallery, or are you in the process of creating a piece for the show?
  • There is no required medium for the work. Any piece using generative AI, in part or in whole, will be immediately disregarded. This includes generating an AI "reference" and then painting that reference exactly.

Originals are preferred. Digital prints are allowed in the gallery, though it is highly recommended that they be hand-embellished or limited in some way, and printed on high quality, archival paper such as a giclee print. Digital prints submitted on non-archival material such as 20lb computer paper will not be accepted or hung for the show.

There is no theme for the show this year, though work that leans more traditionally "furry" (i.e. animals, anthropomorphised or not, cute critters, etc.) would be preferable to subject matter that is entirely human. Furry Tattoo Weekend has a pirate theme this year; it is not required for your work to reflect this!

Be aware that the gallery window does face the street and will have sunlight. Use of archival quality materials is highly encouraged, and Furry Tattoo Weekend and Nevermore do not take responsibility to any damage from the work resulting from hanging in a gallery space.

Limited free-standing or sculptural work (including plush, fursuits, etc.) will be accepted on a table in the center. We may accept NSFW work but it may be on display in a separate space.

  • All work should be brought to Nevermore directly by August 23rd, 2026 and must be matted, framed, or otherwise gallery-ready for hanging. (See below.)

If you are unable to bring the work in person, it should be mailed for arrival no later than August 22nd. It is highly encouraged to purchase tracking and insurance on your work; we will send you an address to mail to if you choose to mail in your work. (DO NOT MAIL DIRECTLY TO NEVERMORE'S LISTED ADDRESS.)

Any work received after these deadlines will not be displayed in the gallery and will be returned to the artist.

Any unsold work can be mailed back to you. Nevermore is not responsible for any items lost in the mail system. Please ship your item with enough lead time to account for delays in the mail.

Nevermore can facilitate sales. All art sold in the Gallery will be a flat price (no auction option available, sorry!) and Nevermore will take a 30% commission fee. Account for this when pricing your work! All work on display must be for sale.

Nevermore reserves the right to not display work that is not up to our standards, including but not limited to: pieces that use generative AI practices in part or in whole, do not reflect the artist's work that was previously accepted, contain harmful material such as hypodermic needles or fiberglass, or are not gallery ready.

  • GALLERY READY CRITERIA:

All pieces should include hanging hardware such as sawtooth hangers or wire. We have nails, hooks, etc. and you will not need to provide these.

For sculpture or other table displayed work, the artist must provide mannequins, stands, or other things required to display the work appropriately.

All paint must be dry before the piece can be accepted.

Canvas pieces do not need to be framed or matted, but must be ready to hang with wire, sawtooth hangers, or an easel supplied by the artist. Please either dress the edges of the canvas by continuing the pieces down, painting the edges a neutral tone such as black or white, or creating a strip frame.

Pieces such as watercolour paintings, digital prints, and other 2D art must be framed, though glazing (glass/plexiglass/etc.) is not a requirement. Matting is recommended, especially if the piece does not fit a standard frame size.

Any pieces submitted with broken frames/glass that are not an intended part of the design will not be accepted. Please be very careful when shipping framed work with glass or delicate frames/pieces.

Please label the back of your piece with your display name, title, price and medium.

Multi-piece sculptures or wall work (such as triptychs or diptychs) must be clearly marked with numbers as to arrangement of pieces & orientation. Include labels and a diagram of how the pieces should be arranged and we will do our best to ensure your vision is presented.

If your art cannot be gallery ready without compromising the piece, please let us know! Exceptions can be made in a case-by-case basis.
