  • About This Event

The F.I.L.E.S. (Future Inspired Leaders Exemplifying Success) Arts Project (TFAP) invites students to participate in our FREE Summer Dance Workshop at the Alabama School of Fine Arts, designed as a focused training intensive for developing artists.

This year’s program emphasizes rigorous daily technique training, artistic growth, and professional presentation. Rather than a traditional stage showcase, families will be invited to a public studio demonstration that highlights the learning process through a curated warm-up, technique excerpts, and a polished repertory combination for each level—paired with an elevated, family-friendly guest experience.

Dance students will build strength, endurance, alignment, and expressive clarity. This workshop prioritizes process-based performance, full daily training, and professional standards, offering students a meaningful and inspiring summer learning experience.

    • TFAP Health & Safety Protocols

The F.I.L.E.S. Arts Project (TFAP) looks forward to sharing the joy of dance with your students this summer. Safety and health are our priority and we take our lead from the CDC, Alabama Department of Public Health, and current local case data. Anticipate changes in these protocols as we continue to learn and adapt to follow best practices. We will periodically communicate changes or re-affirm current protocols. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

      Coming to Class

      - Students will wash or sanitize hands before and after class.

      - Hand sanitizer will be available by each studio and the front desk.

      - Students may not wear street shoes in the studios; dance shoes are not allowed outside the facility such as on the sidewalk or in the parking lot. We recommend students find shoes such as Crocs to slip on over their ballet shoes or change shoes before entering the studio space.

      - Students should be dressed with hair set and ready for class when they arrive.

      - Dressings rooms are open for use. Students may bring their personal items into the dressing rooms which will have assigned spaces.

      - Drinking fountains are open for use. However, students are encouraged to bring a labeled water bottle for use in the studio. Also, students should bring a brown bag lunch/water from home.

      - Parents/guardians are asked to monitor their child for ANY suspected illness and REFRAIN from coming to the studio IF ILL.

      Masks

      - Masks are optional for participants, faculty, and staff.

      Space and Logistics

      - No parents or visitors will be allowed in the building. Drop off and pick-up procedures will be provided upon registration.

      - Students will be assigned a studio for all of their classes for the duration of the Workshop and will not travel to other parts of the building except for lunch and restroom breaks.

      Cleaning and Sanitizing

      - Ballet barres will be sanitized after each use.

      - Facility will have an enhanced cleaning schedule throughout the day; studio floors will be cleaned each evening.
