Four (4) NAACP Lee County Branch 5038 Scholarships will be awarded
$1000 For 2026 High School Graduates with Min 3.0/4.0 GPA
$750 For Current Auburn University College Students who are members of the Student NAACP Chapter with Min 2.75/4.0 GPA
$750 For College Students currently enrolled FT at an HBCU with Min 2.75/4.0 GPA
$500 For 2026 HS Graduates with Min 2.5/4.0 GPA entering Community College

ESSAY Requirements

- Essay must be typed and no more than 2 pages (ie, Arial Font 12 recommended).
- Essay must clearly and comprehensively address the specific ESSAY PROMPT provided below.
- Essay must include a coversheet that contains the following information: student’s name, phone number and email address to ensure, if separated, the correct essay can be identified and associated with the correct student.
- The application is DUE BY: Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM CT.
- All applications should be uploaded directly into the jot form. However, where technical issues may arise, please contact Laticia T. Smith (President, Lee County Branch 5038) via email leecountyalnaacp@gmail.com.
- All applicants will be notified on or before Sunday, April 12, 2026, by 8:00 PM CT.
- Winners will be presented at the Annual Freedom Fund Banquet that will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 6:00 pm at True Deliverance Holiness Church located at 936 N. Donahue Drive, Auburn, AL 36832. Please make tentative arrangements to attend and to arrive by 5:30 PM. NOTE: One (1) ticket will be provided for each scholarship winner. However. additional tickets can be purchased through Lee County Branch 5038 at $55/person before April 1, 2026, and $65/person after April 1, 2026.
OTHER ELIGIBILITY Requirements
- All applicants must be related to (or, have a relationship with) a member of NAACP Lee County Branch 5038. NOTE: A relationship includes but is not limited to a parent, grand parent, aunt, uncle, friend, mentor, or church member.
- All applicants must upload a transcript to confirm GPA.
- All applicants must provide the name and email address of two (2) professional references from non family members. NOTE: They will only be called on an as needed basis.
- All applicants must acknowledge that their essay was written by them and that it has not been copied. Applicants must also acknowledge that submitting identical work of others, or work representative of "excessive" use of AI, will be considered a form of plagiarism. In these instances, the essay will not be reviewed, and the applicant will be disqualified.
