INFORMATION
This full-day experience takes you beyond Bogotá to one of Colombia’s most extraordinary landmarks: the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a unique underground masterpiece combining history, art, and spirituality.
We will travel through the scenic landscapes of the Sabana de Bogotá, passing historic and cultural landmarks along the way, before arriving in Zipaquirá. The highlight of the day is a guided visit of the Salt Cathedral, built deep inside a former salt mine at 2,674 meters above sea level.
During the visit, you will explore the Stations of the Cross carved into the mine tunnels, admire the sandstone Nativity scene, and discover the impressive Main Altar, featuring a monumental 16-meter cross symbolising light and truth.
Declared Colombia’s Wonder No. 1 in 2007, the Salt Cathedral also hosts a remarkable collection of salt and marble sculptures and has even been proposed among the 7 Modern Wonders of the World.
The day concludes with a relaxed lunch featuring local cuisine before returning to Bogotá.
