  • Essay Question

  • Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., founded in 1914 at Howard University, is built upon the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service. The Fraternity encourages young leaders to pursue academic excellence, uplift their communities, and lead with integrity.

Brother John Lewis once said, “We were committed to the way of peace, the way of non-violence, the way of love, the way of life as the way of living.”

In today’s world, young leaders are faced with challenges such as division, bullying, social injustice, and negativity both in person and online.

Reflect on this quote and explain what it means to you. How can you, as a student and future leader, promote peace, kindness, and unity in your school and community? Describe at least two specific actions you have taken or plan to take to fight against hate and encourage love for others.
