1. The renter must be at least 21 years of age to rent the Marquee. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required for each rental contract.
2. The person signing the Rental Agreement must be present the entire duration of the event. Renter must be in attendance at all times and is responsible for all persons using the facility. No person shall rent the Marquee for someone else, there is no subletting.
3. The venue is for private events only. Events may not be open to the general public.
4. All events must conclude by 10:00 p.m. and are limited to 150 persons maximum.
5. Smoking cigarettes or marijuana product use is prohibited inside the Marquee. Cigarette smoking is only allowed outside the facility. Marijuana use is strictly prohibited on all Township property. Failure to comply will result in loss of security deposit.
6. Pets are allowed and must be on a leash and under the physical control of their owner at all times. Leashes must be no longer than six feet long.
7. No thumbtacks, staples, or nails to be affixed to the walls, floors, tables, ceiling or doors and nothing is to be attached to or hung from the ceiling or any fixtures. All candles must have glass protection.
8. No alcohol is allowed outside the facility – including parking lot areas. See Part 4 regarding consumption of alcohol on premises only.
9. Renter may not sell any items, food or refreshments, or services to participants, unless approved by the Director. Events that compete with Township activities or events will not be permitted.
10. Any person in attendance who behaves in an inappropriate or illegal manner will be asked to leave the premises. All requests and directives by Township staff must be followed. All applicable Township laws and ordinances must be obeyed.
11. For the duration of the rental period, renter must assume the responsibility to have adequate safety measures in place to protect the safety of those in attendance, such as, access to a telephone for 911 services and first aid materials and emergency exits are to be kept clear at all times.
12. Materials/equipment will not be used in a manner that could cause bodily injury or property damage.
13. Facilities must be used for their stated purpose unless written permission for an alternative use is granted by the Director at least two weeks prior to the event. Requests may be denied for competing or conflicting uses.
14. Live bands, DJ’s and other outside forms of entertainment are permitted but must be approved by the Director. Appropriate insurance forms must be provided to the Community & Economic Development office at least 5 business days prior to event commencing. The Redford Township Noise Ordinance must be adhered to before, during and after the event.
15. Rides, amusements, petting zoos, inflatable games, dunk tanks, generators, fog machines, confetti/glitter decorations, water balloons, propane heaters and ice cream trucks are not permitted.
16. Caterers, gas grills, charcoal grills, portable pop-up tents and ice cream carts are permitted, but all grills must be a minimum of ten feet outside the Marquee. Any fire sources, be it propane or charcoal, must be contained in approved containers.
17. Renters and their participants must park their vehicles in the appropriate locations.
18. Renter is limited to one (1) self-contained catering food truck to be placed in a designated area. There will be no electricity supplied to the food truck from the Marquee. No parking of food trucks permitted in the main parking lot or blocking of any driveway into or out of the main parking lot.
19. At the conclusion of the event, Renter must remove all items brought in and remove all trash from the facility and place into the provided dumpster located at the northwest corner of the Police Station, adjacent to the Marquee building. The renter must sweep/clean the facility. No items are to be left overnight, and items left behind will be disposed of. The Township is not responsible for any items left behind.
20. Renters and their services are not permitted admittance to the Marquee until the designated time on the Rental Agreement. Renters and their services must vacate the facility by the time designated on the Rental Agreement. (Please note: set up and clean up times are included in designated hours of rental).
21. Security deposit and rental fees must be paid by check or money order. No cash payments will be accepted. Security deposits must be paid separately from rental fees.
