Please Note: iFLY Youth hires two Summer Instructors: one General Instructor and one Spanish Language Instructor. Candidates are encouraged to apply to the role that best aligns with their experience.
Organization Overview
iFLY Youth’s mission is to develop middle school girls of color into global leaders through international travel and community building. We prioritize girls who normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to travel due to financial restraints. Since 2017, we have provided middle school girls from the Greater Washington D.C. area the chance to explore and learn through travel, to countries such as Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia.
Camp iFLY is a transformative program that blends hands-on leadership development, cultural exploration, language lessons and international travel to cultivate curiosity, confidence and global citizenship in girls of color. During Camp iFLY 2026, we will host ~20 middle school students.
Position Overview
The Camp iFLY Summer Instructor plays a key role in delivering a powerful, joyful, safe, and enriching summer experience for our camp Scholars. Reporting to the Program Manager, Summer Instructors are responsible for creating a supportive, engaging, and empowering environment for program participants.
Instructors facilitate daily programming, provide mentorship and guidance to Scholars, support program logistics and help ensure the safety and well-being of Scholars throughout the program – including during the international travel component.
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role for someone who is passionate about youth development, thrives in dynamic and collaborative environments, and is skilled in curating impactful experiences for girls of color in the DMV area.
