    Nebula Performances proudly presents an Art Song Mastercourse led by three-time Grammy Award-winning and internationally acclaimed tenor Ian Bostridge, CBE, together with pianist Wenwen Du. One of the most influential recitalists of our time, Ian Bostridge is celebrated worldwide for his profound musicianship, intellectual depth, and definitive interpretations of Lieder and art song. His long-standing partnership with Wenwen Du has been praised by critics as "a duo of rare sensitivity and intellectual depth, where voice and piano breathe as one." This mastercourse welcomes applications from singer-pianist duos; individual singers or individual collaborative pianists are also encouraged to apply and will be thoughtfully paired to form working partnerships. 

    This mastercourse is recommended for participants ages 18+

  • Mastercourse Information

  • For this mastercourse, we are offering two different packages:

     

    1. Three Day Course - $1,000

    - A combined total of one hour each day of private coaching and masterclass participation led by Ian Bostridge and Wenwen Du

    - A free pass to audit all masterclasses during the mastercourse

    - Three Day Course participants will be featured in the Final Concert on May 16th at Nebula Performances

     

    2. Drop-In Course - $250

    - A total of 30 minutes of participation in a masterclass led by Ian Bostridge and Wenwen Du

    - A free pass to audit one day of the mastercourse

  • This mastercourse is being offered as a duo-masterclass and private coaching sessions. Therefore, both singers and pianists will receive mentorship during their alloted times. We invite pianist/singer pairs to apply together if they would like to work together, however if you are a singer or pianist with no partner selected, we will assist you in finding a suitable partner for the Mastercourse. 

  • Repertoire

  • Please note there is a repertoire requirement for this mastercourse. All repertoire must be either German Lieder or Art Song. There is a minimum of one required German Lieder pieve. Additional pieces may be in any of the following languages: German, English, or French. 

     

    Three Day Course participants will be required to bring a minimum of 6 pieces. Drop in Course participants will be required to bring a minimum of 2 pieces.
