Release of Liability, Attendees and Instructors
Welcome to California Brazil Camp 2026! We are very pleased that you will be joining us for this unique Brazilian music and dance immersion program. Please complete the following mandatory Release. You cannot participate in the California Brazil Camp 2026 if you haven’t fully completed and signed this Release. No refunds will be given if cancellation is the result of failure to sign this release. Thank you.
1. I have voluntarily agreed to participate in the 2026 California Brazil Camp (CBC), held at the Cazadero Performing Arts Camp (CAZPAC), in August, 2026.
2. I agree to abide by all of the rules and regulations of CBC, both oral and written, as set forth by the CBC directors and/or staff. In consideration of participation in the CBC program, I am aware of and agree to the following:
3. Possible Unsafe/Hazardous Conditions. The Cazadero Performing Arts Camp (CAZPAC) includes areas which may contain unsafe conditions or hazardous areas of which CBC is unaware. Neither CBC, nor its directors or staff are under a duty to investigate and/or inspect CAZPAC to identify any unsafe conditions, or to warn attendees or instructors of unsafe conditions, or to disclose or correct any unsafe conditions at CAZPAC.

I acknowledge the contagious nature of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and that California Brazil Camp LLC has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19.I further acknowledge that California Brazil Camp LLC can not guarantee that I will not become infected with the Coronavirus/Covid-19. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected by the Coronavirus/COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, CBC staff, and other participants. I acknowledge that I am increasing my risk to exposure to the Coronavirus/COVID-19. I acknowledge that I must comply with all set procedures to reduce the spread while attending CBC.
5. Assumption of Risk. I understand that participation in CBC involves recreational, educational and camping activities that can be dangerous. (For example, some dangers include but are not limited to insect or animal bites, falling tree branches, poison oak/ivy, tripping on exposed roots, rocks or branches, swimming, hiking, basketball, high impact aerobic activities such as dancing.) I am voluntarily participating in these activities with full and complete knowledge of the dangers involved. I expressly accept and assume all risk of injury to myself, as well as damage of property which may arise from any and all activities at CBC.
6. Release. I hereby agree not to make a claim against or sue CBC, its directors and/or staff, Cazadero Performing Arts Camp (CAZPAC), its officers, directors, employees, agents, independent contractors and other representatives, and/or any entity doing business with CAZPAC or CBC, for death, personal injury and/or damages resulting from any cause in connection with my participation in any of the activities of CBC, including any injury or damage resulting from the active negligence, other negligence or other acts or omissions, however caused, of CBC, its directors and/or staff, other than the intentional misconduct of CBC or its directors and/or staff. I also release and forever discharge CBC and its directors and/or staff, from all claims, demands and actions which I now have or may hereafter have for death, personal injury or damage resulting from my participation in CBC.
I also agree to indemnify, defend and hold CBC, its directors and/or staff, CAZPAC, the City of Berkeley, and its officers, directors, employees, agents, independent contractors and other representatives, free and harmless from any and all expenses, demands, claims, costs, losses, damages, recoveries, settlements and expenses (including but not limited to interest, penalties, attorneys fees, expert witness fees, and other costs) of any nature or kind which are incurred in connection with death, personal injury and/or property damage allegedly sustained as a result of my participation in CBC activities.
7. This release also expressly covers any transportation service provided by CBC, its directors and/or staff, including but not limited to transportation to/from any airport.
8. I expressly agree to permit CBC to use any pictures, videos, and/or sound recording taken of any attendee or instructor during the course of CBC.
9. Persons Included. In signing this Release, I am acting for myself and my successors, including my heirs, others who inherit from me, personal representatives, and assigns.
