SDDTA College Tennis Scholarship Application: The San Diego District Tennis Association (SDDTA) College Scholarship Is given each year to tennis players who have a passion for tennis and wish to pursue the sport in college either recreationally or competitively. Players must have a record of competitive tennis and impeccable sportsmanship. SDDTA will award a minimum of three $1,500 Scholarships.
In addition, in cooperation with SDDTA, the Angel Lopez Tennis Scholarship will award $1,500 to a qualified applicant of Hispanic ethnicity. This award is funded by Angel Lopez, a renowned local tennis professional and San Diego resident who has guided countless junior and adult players to amateur and professional tennis achievement.
Applicants must:
1. Be a resident of San Diego County and U.S. Citizen
2. Be a high School senior or current college student
3. Display good sportsmanship on and off the court
4. Have a GPA 3.5 or higher or SAT Score 1150 or higher
5. Demonstrate financial need
6. Agree to continue their goals and aspirations including playing tennis in an organized setting such as college varsity, club, tennis, USTA leagues and/or.
