I WANT TO BE A PRACTICE GROUP FACILITATOR AND A MENTOR
PLEASE READ BOTH AGREEMENTS BELOW
The Compassion Course (CCO) 2026 – 2027
Practice Group Facilitator Agreement
The Facilitator agrees that:
1) They have the necessary prerequisites to be a Practice Group Facilitator. Facilitators must have previously completed the CCO in a CCO Practice Group.
2) They will attend live, watch or listen to the Monthly Conferences, the Monthly Deep Dives and the Monthly Leadership Program Conferences (for Facilitators and Mentors).
3) Their practice group(s) will include only currently registered CCO participants. Allowing unregistered participation (e.g. pirating or reselling the course), excludes individuals from essential community features and undermines economic sustainability of the course, putting the entire program at risk.
4) They will follow the CCO curriculum and content in the order it is delivered. The course is designed as a structured progression based on decades of experience. Altering the sequence reduces its effectiveness and jeopardizes its integrity.
5) They will focus on facilitating CCO content and practices in their practice group. To support clarity and cohesion, the facilitator will focus on the assigned weekly material, and will avoid introducing outside teachings or practices.
6) Facilitating is different than training or teaching, where the leader takes responsibility for the curriculum and content. CCO Facilitators do not create or modify curriculum or content that Thom Bond provides in his weekly messages. The practice group’s purpose is to support understanding and practice of the course material.
7) They may charge a fee or ask a donation of $5-$25 for facilitating a practice group as part of an energy exchange.
8) They will provide all practice group participants with the CCO Practice Groups Feedback Form by the end of the course year. This supports communication, effectiveness and ongoing learning.
The CCO agrees to provide:
9) All the benefits of being a Regular Participant, as well as the opportunity to be part of the Leadership Track – Facilitators and Mentors – at the same cost as being a Regular Participant.
10) A private secure forum for communication, support and connection with other Facilitators (and Mentors).
11) 12 monthly conferences for Facilitators (and Mentors) – the Leadership Track – on the 3rd Monday of each month at 12pm ET. These conferences are peer-led by experienced Facilitators (and Mentors) and Thom will join 6 of the 12 sessions to provide learning and support.

Mentoring Agreement
The Mentor agrees that:
1) They have the necessary prerequisites to serve as a Mentor. Mentors must have received a CCO Certificate of Completion and they have completed at least 6 mentoring sessions as a Mentee and can provide at least one positive reference from their Mentor.
2) They will attend live, watch or listen to the Monthly Conferences, the Monthly Deep Dives and the Monthly Leadership Program Conferences (for Mentors and Facilitators).
3) They will mentor currently registered course participants. Mentoring unregistered individuals excludes them from essential community features and undermines the economic sustainability of the course, putting the entire program at risk.
4) They will follow the CCO curriculum and content in the order it is delivered. The course is designed as a structured progression based on decades of experience. Altering the sequence – besides at times referring to earlier content – reduces its effectiveness and jeopardizes its integrity.
5) They are to assist their mentees to understand and integrate the work of the CCO. They are not meant to provide therapy or introduce any other teachings and will refrain from counseling or advising regarding personal matters.
6) Mentoring is different than training or teaching, where the leader takes responsibility for the curriculum and content. CCO Mentors do not create or modify the curriculum and content that Thom Bond provides in his weekly messages. The purpose of mentoring is to clarify the content and practices to help the mentee apply them to their own life.
7) The fee, length and frequency of the mentoring sessions can be based on the agreement between the Mentor and the Mentee. The fee may vary widely from pro-bono to over $200 per session. Sessions are typically 30-60 minutes, 2-4 times per month and may vary depending on preferences.
8) They will provide their mentees with the CCO Mentoring Feedback Form at the beginning and at the end of their mentoring partnership. This supports communication, effectiveness and ongoing learning.
The CCO agrees to provide:
9) All the benefits of being a Regular Participant, as well as the opportunity to be part of the Leadership Track – Mentors and Facilitators – at the same cost as being a Regular Participant.
10) A private secure forum for communication, support and connection with other Mentors (and Facilitators).
11) 12 monthly conferences for Mentors (and Facilitators) – the Leadership Track – on the 3rd Monday of each month at 12pm ET. These conferences are peer-led by experienced Mentors (and Facilitators) and Thom will join 6 of the 12 sessions to provide learning and support.
