Applications are being accepted for the upcoming three years of Sunny Dayz Mural Festivals!

Deadline:
Applications received by April 24, 2026 will be considered for hosting the 2027 festival. Applications for hosting the 2028 or 2029 festival will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Proposed Site for Murals*

Provide a map and photos of proposed mural locations.*

A marked satellite screenshot will suffice for the map. This does not need to be super detailed. Photos should be of blank walls to be considered for murals.

Describe a proposed location to serve as the festival headquarters during “Sunny Week". The space is to be used by staff, artists, and volunteers as a central home base. The space should be provided in-kind and should within a very short walking distance of the mural site. It would ideally be a vacant building or event venue that can also accommodate gatherings throughout the week. *

Include details on size, available amenities, and flexibility for both work and event programming.

Please provide photos of the proposed headquarters.

Up to 100 Sunny Dayz artists and volunteers will be on site during the week leading up to the festival (“Sunny Week”). Please describe available lodging options within 15 minutes of the festival site that could accommodate this group. *

Indicate whether these accommodations could be provided in-kind or at a discounted rate. Options may include university dormitories, hotel rooms, or other group lodging facilities. Artists and volunteers are able to share rooms if needed.

Please describe your plan for identifying a local Site Liaison who will serve as the primary connection for festival logistics and local communication. Responsibilities include working with staff and volunteers to coordinate permitting and barricades, supporting building owner communication, assisting with housing, and facilitating community outreach. This person will be supported by the Sunny Dayz Festival Director, and programming and production committees.*

Include proposed candidates, relevant experience, and how this person will work with Sunny Dayz staff before and during the festival.

Please describe your plan for identifying a local Fundraising Chair who will connect Sunny Dayz’ staff and volunteers with potential donors, including local businesses and individuals. This person should be well connected within the community. This person will be supported by the Sunny Dayz board, Executive Director, and development committee. *

Include proposed candidates, relevant experience, and how they will support fundraising efforts leading up to and during the festival.

The Sunny Dayz Mural Festival requires a $80,000-$100,000 contribution from the hosting entity, representing approximately one-third of the total festival cost. Sunny Dayz staff, board, and volunteers will raise the remaining two-thirds with help from the local fundraising chair. Please describe your plan for securing this contribution, including whether it could be incorporated into your municipal budget or other potential funding sources. Final funding amount will determine the number of walls and total square footage that will be painted.*

In recognition of this contribution, the hosting entity will receive premier visibility as a top-tier sponsor, including recognition on every mural plaque and all festival signage.
