About the Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust (MBNZT)
Since 2005, the MBNZT has operated as a registered charitable trust dedicated to ensuring Aotearoa’s ecosystems support thriving populations of moths and butterflies. With over 2,000 species in New Zealand, 90% of which are found nowhere else on Earth, our mission is to bridge the gap in conservation efforts that often overlook these essential pollinators. You may read more about us here.
The Public Spaces Project
We aim to build a national picture of moth and butterfly-friendly public spaces so councils can learn from each other and showcase good work. This stocktake helps us understand the current landscape across Aotearoa and identify the practical successes you have already achieved and how we can support you to continue the good work.
