  • The Fundamentals of Teaching Genocide: The Armenian Case

  • Learn new strategies and techniques to teach about the Armenian Genocide, its societal preconditions, stages, and present-day implications of the ongoing genocide in the Armenian region of Artsakh. During this two-part workshop, learn from experts and generational survivors about the Central Californian Armenian experience through collaborative sessions that connect content to practice, exploring how to design classroom experiences that engage students in learning about painful truths while cultivating compassion, resilience, and responsibility.

    Participating in both sessions of this workshop is strongly recommended, as the material will build in a complimentary and progressive way.

    Date: April 14 & 16, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

    Location: Bullard High School, Fresno, CA

    *These are in-person only workshops*

    Qualified participants of the professional development workshop, “The Fundamentals of Teaching Genocide: The Armenian Case” on April 14 & 16, 2026 will earn $150 ($75 for each 3-hour session) to be paid by The Genocide Education Project.

    Qualified participants must: 

    *be working California educators
    *complete workshop surveys administered by The Genocide Education Project 
    *attend each workshop in its entirety
