    The Cady Grant is available to individual United Methodists, local UM churches, or UNY district and conference ministry teams. As directed by the originator of the Ercil Cady Grant, “priority shall be given for the benefit or education of minority groups or individuals, preferably black and American Indians.”

  • Cady Grant Application Procedure

    Please provide a summary of the proposed education/ministry/program/event. The proposal must demonstrate:

    1. The education/ministry/program/event is faith based.

    2. A direct benefit preferably for an African American or Native American.

    3. A need for such an educational/ministry/program/event.

    4. An itemized expense report (as appropriate).

     

    Application should be a brief synopsis limited to one page:

    A. Education/ministry/program/event name.

    B. Summarize:

    a. Who is the request for (or who would attend if this is a group event)?

    b. Why (individual or community need)

    c. What the person(s) will do/learn/experience

    d. When (time frame)

    e. Where (location of education/ministry/program/event)

    C. What do you hope to accomplish?

     

    State the amount requested from the Cady Grant fund. If a ministry/program/ event, please submit a one-page financial report of expenses. Salaries and stipends will not be awarded from this grant.

    Applications must be submitted with no more than 3 pages (cover sheet, one-page proposal, and financial report if appropriate)
