  • 2027 Leadership Identification & Development - Volunteer Application

    This application is used for self-nomination for National Leadership Opportunities. Women’s Council values leadership at every level: local, state, and national. National opportunities require professionalism, collaboration, follow-through, and a demonstrated commitment to growing others and strengthening the organization. Applicants must be members in good standing and agree to uphold Women’s Council expectations by signing the Consent to Serve, Code of Conduct, and Leadership Letter. Note: Members from states without a formal leadership structure are also encouraged to apply.

  • Listed below are leadership opportunities and descriptions currently available at the National Level for 2027.

  • Conference Ambassador at Midyear Meeting and National Conference

    We seek outgoing and friendly members to make attendees feel welcome at our live national meetings. (1,3)

    Author a Women's Council Corner Newsletter Article

    We seek members with good writing skills to author organic content of member interest for our monthly newsletters. (1)

    Election Volunteer at Midyear Meeting

    We seek members who like the governance aspect of meetings and can assist with aspects of running an election. (1,3)

    Executive Committee

    While members are encouraged to campaign for open positions, there are 1-2 appointed slots each year by the President. (2,3)

    Finance & Budget Committee Member

    We seek 10 members who want to provide oversight to national finances - requires 2 virtual meetings and attendance at two live meetings (additional meetings on a case-by-case basis). (2,3)

    Governance Meetings at National: Inspiration and Pledge

    While typically handpicked by the President, we seek inspirational members to lead in the pledge and /or do an inspiration. Opportunities at Governing Board (May and November) and at Annual Business Meeting (May). (1,3)

    Member Engagement & Belonging

    Women’s Council strengthens member connection and community by fostering a welcoming culture where every member feels valued. Virtual and live programs are organized and led by members to build belonging, celebrate our members, and strengthen an inclusive organization for all. (1)

    Network 360 Leadership Conference Faculty

    Instructors are chosen to lead seminars at the annual Summer (July or Aug) event in Chicago. We seek highly qualified and experienced members with teaching experience. Faculty are expected to attend prep calls and meet deadlines for materials. (1)

    Opportunity & Growth Committee

    This committee is focused on development opportunities for leaders in our organization. Opportunity & Growth can help bolster education and involvement for future leaders in our organization. (2, 3) 

    Session Greeter and Kickoff Emcee

    We are seeking members to greet attendees, introduce speakers and/or kick off a session. Ambassadors and Leadership Institute members may also be assigned to support this role.  (1,3)

    Social Media Influencers

    Each year, up to a dozen talented members are selected to promote organic content to its followers on National products, programs, and services. Led by a chair and co-chair, influencers must have a high engagement level with the Council and a successful social media following of members. (2,3)

    Social Media Influencer Chair and Co-Chair

    A Chair and Co-Chair will lead up to a dozen talented members selected to promote organic content to followers on National products, programs, and services. The Chair and Co-Chair will review, connect, monitor, and motivate the influencers and serve as a liaison with staff. (2.3)

    Speaker at National Meetings or Virtual Events

    We are seeking proven members to deliver content at national meetings; While speakers are typically unpaid, it is an excellent opportunity for speakers wishing to grow their speaking career. Please include any topics in the text box below. (1,3)

    Technology Investment Committee

    This Committee’s charge is to review where we are today with our technology initiatives, what’s underway and the associated timelines, and may be utilized to make recommendations as to next steps for the Council. Service on this committee requires a commitment to in person attendance at our two national conferences, as well as other meetings during 2025. (2,3)

    Trade Show and Expo Booth at National Conference

    We seek friendly members to interact in a trade show booth to engage in Women’s Council membership opportunities. Volunteers are assigned 1–2 hour timeslots.
