Presented by the Brampton Arts Organization (BAO) and Canon Canada, the Photographer in Residence Pilot Program provides a fee of $5,000 in addition to a value bank spend for the Canon print shop, a studio and working space at Canon Canada Headquarters, and a professional level camera kit rental from April 13-Jul 31 2026.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY
The Photographer in Residence pilot program provides funding to Brampton based professional photographer to undertake an artist residency at Canon Canada Headquarters (8000 Mississauga Rd, Brampton, ON L6Y 5Z7) from April 13-July 31.
The selected photographer will have the opportunity to access free wheelchair accessible workspace with Headquarters from 9am-5pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in addition to the following resources:
- Value Bank spend of up to $1500 for Print Shop / Frame Lab (excluding production of final deliverables)
- Professional Level Camera Kit
- EOS R6 Mark II [MSRP $3,000]
- RF 24-105 F4 L IS USM [MSRP $1,900]
RESIDENCY DELIVERABLES
By the Conclusion of the program, the selected photographer will be responsible for delivery of the following:
- A gallery of 10 high resolution images to be printed and displayed in the Canon offices for no less than 6 months, up to 1 year. Canon may choose to share these images on their website and social media and will retain the rights and copyright to these specific images
- 2 social media posts per month (8 total) sharing behind the scenes content, tagging both the Brampton Arts Organization and Canon Canada.
- 1 article/blog featuring highlights of the working term, to be posted on Canon.ca in perpetuity
- 2 event hosting opportunities including 1 gallery showcase
- 1 piece of free public programming (to be developed in collaboration with BAO and Canon Canada Staff ex. An artist talk)
The artist fee/honorarium awarded is $5,000. Please note that the selected Photographer in Residence will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Canon Canada, as the role may involve access to information or materials that are not yet public.
