  • Dear Dhamma Friends and Community Members,

    With great joy and reverence, Huong Dao Temple in Fort Worth, Texas warmly invites you to volunteer for our 2026 International Vesak Celebration.

    Vesak is a sacred and meaningful occasion commemorating the Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinibbāna of the Blessed One. It is a time for the community to gather in unity, gratitude, and service. To ensure a successful and uplifting celebration, we are seeking dedicated volunteers to serve from now through May 30, 2026.

    There are many ways to contribute according to your skills and availability, including:

    • Event setup and decoration
    • Guest hospitality and registration
    • Parking and logistics support
    • Food preparation and serving
    • Illuminate Light of Wisdom
    • Audio/visual and technical support
    • Clean-up and post-event coordination

    Whether you can serve for a single day or throughout the preparation period, your time and effort will help create a peaceful and welcoming environment for all who attend.

    Volunteering is a beautiful practice of dāna (generosity) and collective harmony. Together, we can make this International Vesak Celebration a meaningful and memorable offering to the community.

  • Assumptions of Risk and Release of Liability

  • 1. Release of Liability and Covenant Not to Sue: In return for being allowed to participate in Huong Dao Temple volunteer activities and all related activities, including any activities incidental to such participation (“Volunteer Activities”), the undersigned Volunteer (or Parent/Legal Guardian if Volunteer is under age 18; hereafter referred to as “I”, “me”, or “my”) hereby releases and agrees not to sue Huong Dao Temple or its officers, directors, employees, sub-contractors, sponsors, agents, and affiliates (collectively, the “Organization”) from all present and future claims that may be made by me, my family, estate, heirs, or assigns for property damage, personal injury, or wrongful death arising as a result of my participation in the Volunteer Activities, wherever, whenever, or however the same may occur.

     

    2. Assumption of Risk: I understand and agree that Huong Dao Temple is not responsible for any injury or property damage arising out of the Volunteer Activities, even if caused by their ordinary negligence or otherwise. I understand that participation involves certain risks, including, but not limited to, serious injury and death. I am voluntarily participating with knowledge of the danger involved and agree to accept all risks of participation.

     

    3. Indemnification and Scope: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Huong Dao Temple for all claims arising out of my participation in the Volunteer Activities. I understand that this document is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the state in which the Volunteer Activities take place. If any portion of this Agreement is found invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect.

     

    4. Insurance and Health: I acknowledge that Huong Dao Temple has not arranged and does not carry any insurance of any kind for my benefit. I represent that, to my knowledge, I am in good health and suffer no physical impairment that would or should prevent my participation in Volunteer Activities.

     

    5. Volunteer Relationship and Expenses: I understand and agree that my service is provided strictly on a volunteer basis. I am not an employee, agent, or official representative of Huong Dao Temple, and I have no authority to enter into agreements or make representations on the organization’s behalf. I further acknowledge that any and all travel expenses—including but not limited to transportation, parking, fuel, and lodging—incurred in connection with my volunteer activities are my sole responsibility and will not be reimbursed by the Organization.

     

    6. At-Will Participation: I acknowledge that this relationship is "at-will" for both parties. I may choose to end my volunteer service at any time, and Huong Dao Temple reserves the right to release me from my volunteer duties at any time, with or without cause or prior notice.
