The Mindful Movement Series is currently accepting expressions of interest for a 7-week Body Image programme designed to support women experiencing body image concerns, including disordered eating patterns. This is a structured, trauma-informed group that offers a gentle, supportive space to reconnect with the body in a way that feels safer, kinder, and more grounded. The programme is intended as a supportive adjunct to existing care (psychology, dietetics, GP support) and can complement your broader treatment goals.
Each weekly 90-minute session includes a mindful yoga practice informed by trauma-sensitive yoga therapy principles. Sessions emphasise nervous system safety, grounding, breath awareness, and interoceptive skills, supporting you to notice body sensations with curiosity rather than judgement. The practice is not fitness-focused, and we intentionally avoid appearance-based or weight-loss language. You will always be invited to modify, pause, or opt out, with a strong emphasis on choice, consent, and personal agency.
The second part of each session is a facilitated group discussion to help integrate the week’s theme into daily life. Themes may include safety and choice, self-compassion, boundaries, mindfulness skills, and values-aligned living. Discussion is structured and supportive, with an emphasis on practical tools and reflection rather than detailed personal disclosures.
The Mindful Movement Series prioritises both psychological and physical safety. To ensure the programme is the right fit, all participants complete a brief eligibility assessment prior to enrolment. This helps clarify your goals, identify any additional supports that may be helpful, and confirm readiness for gentle group movement within a clinical setting. Clear group agreements guide confidentiality, respectful communication, and shared safety throughout the programme.
