     A/BPU Team Competition - ONLY 6 men's and 6 women's teams

    When? 16 and 17 May

    Where? FitXpo, Bolton Arena, Arena Approach, Horwich, Bolton BL6 6LB

    Weigh-ins: the day before you compete, 10-11.30AM or 4PM-5PM

    What is the split? Saturday 16th: All men's teams. Sunday 17th: All women's teams

    Criteria: Teams are 3 people. 3 men or 3 women. This is a full power only competition. 

    Lifters of the team can use whatever equipment they wish within WPC full power categories as equipment will have a points adjustment. There will also be an age points adjustment. 

    The team with the most Glossbrenner points from the combined total - after adjustment for equipment, age and whether BPU or ABPU wins. 

    Each team may have ONE member who is a fist time competitor (first time powerlifting competitor NOT having competed in ANY powerlifting competition at all, ever!). If a team has one fist time competition, they will receive 20% additional points.

    Introduction and what happens

    This is an often-proposed full powerlifting team competition, first time in A/BPU history!
    And, as one would expect, we have added a twist into it!
    Men’s and women’s teams battle individually in groups of three. What makes this unique is that lifters can be of any age and use any equipment, all will be ironed out with coefficient!
     
    Each team will have a pre-comp writeup published by the federation and extra coverage, and the winners will go on a permanent article on the federation website. We want our hard-working coaches and atmosphere cultivating gyms that can produce teams to get some recognition and limelight.
     
    We want the experienced lifters mixing in with the novices and we want everyone pushing extra hard for the team. Bring your team, have fun, and maybe you will go home with the winner’s prize!
     
    Team Formation
    - A team member can compete in any equipment class, and a member of BPU or ABPU. The equipment and affiliation differences are equalled out with a coefficient, details of which are outlined below.
    - Gym, coach, or group of friends can submit their teams. All one needs is a team name and the names of all the lifters partaking. One can submit men’s teams, women’s teams, or both.
    - If a team member is a genuine first time competitor, his/her overall total points will have an additional 20% added to their total. So bring your first timers to compete! Only ONE first timer per team. 
    - All lifters of a team must be members of ABPU or BPU.

    Points Calculation

    The very complicated way of making sure it is fair!
    Glossbrenner points are used for this competition
    McCullough age adjustment, AKA age coefficient is utilised
     
    Equipment coefficient:
    This will be the deduction from lifters total based on the equipment class they compete under.
    RAW (naked knees): no deduction
    Sleeves: 4% deduction from points
    Wraps: 7% deduction from points
    Single ply: 20% deduction from points
    Multi ply: 25% deduction from points
    Unlimited: 30% deduction from points
     
    Affiliation:
    For obvious reasons, a small adjustment is done based on whether lifter is BPU or ABPU. A points based competition already takes lifter’s bodyweight into account, but further adjustment is made to ensure a level playing field.
    BPU lifters: 7% deduction from points

  • TERMS AND CONFITIONS 

    I hereby agree to enter this competition on the following terms:

     1.  In consideration of the acceptance of this entry thereby for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators waive and release any and all claims and damages I may have against the BPU, ABPU, the organisers, volunteers, Venue owners, their representatives, successors, and assignees for any and all injuries or bodily harm that I may suffer while competing at the BPU ABPU TEAM WARS  I attest and verify that I have full knowledge of all risks involved with my participation in this event, and that to the best of my knowledge I am physically fit and able to participate in this event. I acknowledge I take part and are present completely at my own risk and take full repsonsibility for any all losses, injury, emotional or physical or any other cllaim. 

     2. That I know of no reason why I should not take part on the grounds of ill health or any other associated condition, known or unknown. 

     3.  I have paid my entry fee today which I understand is non-refundable under any circumstances,  Payment details for paypal and bank payment below which I understand is required to be paid on the same day this entry is sent to the BPU and ABPU. Entries will CLOSE when all classes are full - ths is a federsation policy and is non-nehotiable and made clear on the web site. 

      4. The federation will not hold or post any medals, trophies or other associated competiton winnings if the competitior does not collect them at the ceremony on the day. 

     5. All competitors MUST produce their membership card at weigh in otherwise the competitor shall not be permitted to compete. 

    6/      PLEASE NOTE: ONLY 30 COMPETITIORS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WILL BE TAKEN. THE ENTRIES WILL CLOSE AS SOON AS EACH DAY IF FULL

    7. ALL Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable regardless of circumstances. Due to current conditions, you understand this competition may be postponed or cancelled and agree to this. This will not be discussed. By ticking "I agree" you understand this. 

    8. Competitors must be aware that any abusive or threatening behaviour toward any member of staff, volunteer or other competitor will result in removal form the competition without refund.

    9. I understand the health risks involved and am attending in full knowledge of those risks which I am solely repsonsible for. I do not hold the A/BPU WPC UK Ltd responsible for any health condition incurred from attendance to this venue or competition and will attend in full knowledge of the riskls. 

    10. I understand that I must comply by all health and safety regimes put in place for this competition and failure to do so will result in my removal from this competition without refund.
