This scholarship was named to honor Loydee Sundin Stonebrink of Oregon. Loydee was a well-respected Natural Resources and Private Property Rights Advocate. Loydee was a past president of the Foundation and of Oregon Women for Agriculture. She passed in 2023, leaving a bequest to AAW Foundation as an endowment, which now supports scholarships and other programs of the Foundation. This scholarship was established to increase active involvement in AAW policy positions and to encourage members to get involved in issues
that affect agriculture.
This scholarship is available to any AAW member to attend the Mid-Year AAW Meeting held in March/April of each year. The applicant may be of any age, but cannot have attended a past Mid-Year AAW Meeting.
Only one applicant per affiliate will be accepted. Up to three scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the committee. This scholarship is for $750. Applications are due by March 11 this year. Questions may be directed to aawfoundationscholarships@americanagriwomen.org.
ELIBILITY:
• Affiliates are encouraged to provide additional funds, if needed, and assist with housing, travel and registration arrangements for their scholarship recipient.
• Applicants must have an agriculture relationship and interest.
• Recipients are required to write a report on their convention experience. Reports or excerpts will be used in the AAW Voice and affiliate newsletters.
• Recipients do have to be a current AAW member to apply for the scholarship
• Scholarship Receipient will need to register as soon as possible.
• Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the full meeting.
