  • Tip: Most events have 3-7 stations depending on distance, budget, location, volunteers, etc.

    You can either set up multiple stations along a large course (5k course), or a single station around a smaller loop (ex. school parking lot). In the case of multiple stations, use a different color at each station. For the smaller loops, simply change to a new color each time the runners pass. This is a great option if you have less volunteers.

  • For an event with {howMany8} runners with {howMany} color stations and using the Dixie cup tossing method, you will need {poundsPer} lbs at each of your color stations.  In total, you should have roughly {totalPounds} lbs of color powder.

     

  • Instruct volunteers to toss a heaping Dixie cup of color powder onto each runner at each color station.

  • Instruct volunteers to toss a Dixie cupful of color powder onto each runner at each color station.

  • Instruct volunteers to toss half to 3/4 of a Dixie cup of color powder onto each runner at each color station.

  • For an event with {howMany8} runners and {howMany} color stations and using the Squeeze Bottle tossing method, you will need {squeezeBottles} squeeze bottles at each color stations. In total, you should have {totalSqueeze} squeeze bottles.

     

  • TIP: Check the squeeze bottle nozzel to make sure there is no obstruction that will slow down the rate of flow. Each squeeze bottle should cover roughly 16 runners passing through a color station.

  • TIP: Cut down the squeeze bottle nozzel mid-way to increase the rate of flow. Each squeeze bottle should cover roughly 9 runners passing throught a color station.
