Clone of BEAM Summer Program 2025

High School and GHD summer programs will run Monday-Thursday for 6 weeks (July 6 -August 13) from 8:00AM-1:00PM at Diefendorf Hall University at Buffalo South Campus.

High School: This program will be open to 24 students in Grades 9-12. Those who reside in the City of Buffalo will be paid through Mayor’s Summer Internship Program (students must apply at MSY 2026 Application and request BEAM as their worksite BEFORE COMPLETING THIS FORM). Each week, students will be challenged to use innovation, imagination, and will attend an engineering-based off-site opportunity.

GHD: This program will be offered to 12 juniors from Hutchinson Central Technical High School who major in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering. GHD employees will lead students through an engineering design process. Students will be paid through Mayor’s Summer Internship Program (students must apply at MSY 2026 Application and request BEAM as their worksite BEFORE COMPLETING THIS FORM).

1. Students must attend all scheduled activities and classes as assigned by instructors. Students are expected to be on time. A student who is tardy excessively or repeatedly without the instructor’s advance permission may be denied entrance to the classroom.

2. Students must treat staff and their peers with respect. The use of foul language or physical or verbal fighting will not be tolerated.

3. Students must return any materials from instructors in good condition.

4. Students may leave the classroom only with permission of the instructor.

5. Students are expected to dress in a manner appropriate for school. Clothing, hats and attire bearing an expression or insignia which is insulting or obscene or which advocates racial or religious prejudice or is offensive in any way or bearing an expression or insignia of drug or alcohol or tobacco product is not permitted.

6. Weapons and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.

7. Lost or stolen bus passes will not be replaced.

8. Parent/guardian will be called if code is violated.
