It is the intention of this code of conduct to promote proper behavior and respect for all participants within the Association. All parents are asked to sign this code of conduct to show their support for the principles of Fair Play.

1. I agree that this code of conduct pertains to every member who partakes in any SGMHA/PAC activity (this includes, but is not limited to, myself, my spouse/partner, any person that comes to watch my child(ren)/dependents play).
2. I agree that I will not force my child(ren)/dependent(s) to participate in hockey.
3. I agree I will remember that my child(ren)/dependent(s) plays hockey for his or her enjoyment, not mine.
4. I agree that I will encourage my child(ren)/dependent(s) to play by the rules and to resolve conflict without resorting to hostility or violence.
5. I agree that I will teach my child(ren)/dependent(s) that doing one's best is as important as winning so that my child(ren)/dependent(s) will never feel defeated by the outcome of the game.
6. I agree I will make my child(ren)/dependent(s) feel like a winner every time by offering praise for competing fairly and hard.
7. I agree I will never ridicule or yell at my child(ren)/dependent(s) for making a mistake or losing a game.
8. I agree I will remember that children learn by example. I will applaud good plays and performances by both my child(ren)'s/dependent(s) team(s) and their opponents.
9. I agree that I recognize officials are being developed in the same manner as players and will be supportive of their decisions during games.
10. I agree I will support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from the hockey environment.
11. I agree I will respect and show appreciation for the volunteers who give their time to hockey for my child.
12. I agree to follow all SGMHA's Bylaws, Policies and Procedures and understand disciplinary actions may be enforced should I or any member attached to my child(ren)/dependent(s) go against the conducts in place.
13. I agree disciplinary actions will be given if I or any member attached to my child(ren)/dependent(s) is guilty of harassment and/or abuse (verbal, emotional, physical) of players, coaches, officials, parents, volunteers and facility staff. I agree there is zero tolerance for the above.

I agree to abide by the principles of this CODE of CONDUCT as set and supported by this Association. I also agree to abide by the rules, regulations and decisions as set for this Association.
