Faces of the Fraser: The Confluence
  • The Fraser River Discovery Centre is located on the traditional territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Halq̓eméylem speaking peoples. Territory acknowledgement is one small part of Reconciliation. Please take a moment to think of other ways you can participate in Reconciliation with Indigenous communities.

    Registration Form

  • Faces of the Fraser is an informal opportunity for the community to learn more about the role played by the mighty Fraser in our daily lives. Presentations are followed by a Q&A session.

Looking to connect with others in the environmental sector? Join us for The Confluence, an evening mixer designed to spark honest conversations, new relationships, and bold ideas.

Working in the environmental field can sometimes feel isolating. This event brings professionals together for thought-provoking discussions, community-building, and meaningful networking. The evening will begin with a keynote by Jason Hwang, Vice President of the Pacific Salmon Foundation, followed by facilitated small-group activities exploring how our field can adapt to a changing political landscape — what to watch for in the coming years and what we may need to rethink or leave behind.

Come ready to challenge assumptions, share perspectives, and leave with fresh insight into your work.

    Light refreshments will be served.

    Keynote Speaker

Jason Hwang, Chief Program Officer & Vice President, Salmon, Pacific Salmon Foundation.

Jason began as a habitat biologist at Fisheries and Oceans Canada for the BC Interior North region. Growing up in North Delta, he fished on weekends and was naturally drawn to what was under the water’s surface. Now, he oversees and supports all PSF salmon initiatives, working with First Nations, crown government agencies, other NGOs, academia, and industry.
