SLB Radio Summer Camps offer middle and high school students one-of-a-kind experiences at the Youth Media Center (co-located within the Children’s Museum on the North Side), including opportunities to learn new skills, get creative, make new friends, and have their voices be heard. SLB is seeking applications for Camp Counselors from students entering grades 10 - 12. Camp Counselors work with SLB staff members to support summer camp activities and act as role models and peer mentors to campers during their time at the Youth Media Center. Counselors will work alongside campers and demonstrate best practices.
Qualifications: While familiarity with SLB Radio and/or audio production is a plus, it isn't a requirement. Here's what we'll be looking for in applicants:
- A strong sense of empathy and sincere interest in helping others;
- Willingness to learn and improve;
- Interest and/or experience in media creation/audio recording/writing/etc.;
- While not required, previous peer mentorship and/or leadership experience is a plus
Schedule: Camp Counselors are expected to be available for the entirety of the camp(s) for which they are serving, from 10 am - 3:30 pm each day of camp. See application for specific dates. Camp Counselors will also be required to attend training sessions.
Stipend: Camp Counselors will recieve a stipend of $450 per week
