Transportation: Be advised that, according to Board of Education policy, NO out of district bus transportation will be available.
This Out of District Transfer must be applied for each year and is subject to:
- Student enrollment for that grade
- Verification of information on this form and agency form
- The Board of Education changing school boundaries
- The Board of Education or Superintendent changing procedures
- Receipt of application within the required period (April 30th)
*For students who reside out of county, payment of the DCPS projected tuition is due prior to the start of the school year. Out of district approval can be rescinded at any time if the conditions are not adhered to.
- The student maintaining satisfactory school attendance, including tardy to school/class
- The student maintaining satisfactory behavior
- Any changes in student circumstances relevant to the reason(s) for the transfer (address,
Childcare, employment, etc.
Decisions regarding Out of District will be sent to families by June 1st and all appeals must be submitted in writing by June 15th.
OUT OF DISTRICT REVOCATION
A student’s out-of-district status can be revoked if any of the following occur:
- Two or more suspensions or ISS
- Ten or more unlawful absences
- Five or more unlawful - student is put on probation
- Ten or more tardies to school
- Apply for sport team and do not participate or try out for team, then not eligible the next school year.
- Once the warning letters has been sent and if there is not any improvement, a letter informing the OOD have been revoked will be sent by the Supervisor of Student Services. The student will start at their catchment school at the natural break.
- Reportable Offense: if a student receives a reportable offense, then their out of district enrollment will be revoked
If one of your children has their out of district revoked, all of your children will be sent back to the home school.
