Provost Mentorship Programs for Faculty Success and Leadership
Initial Interest Form
The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement (OVPFA) is pleased to announce the concurrent launch of two new mentorship programs aimed at equipping participating faculty across disciplines with the guidance, skills, and networks needed to thrive in their current and future roles and advance the university’s mission, described below.
Mentorship for Academic Progress and Success (MAPS)
The MAPS program supports early career faculty to successfully and confidently establish their scholarly and institutional selves through guided career development, intentional network-building, and strategic engagement with campus resources.
Leadership Initiative for Faculty Training and Mentorship (LIFT)
LIFT supports mid-career faculty interested in pursuing leadership roles at Columbia by demystifying and developing core competencies relevant to the realities of academic leadership roles today and strategizing key networks and actions pertinent to future roles.
Both programs will provide 1/1 mentorship support as well as cohort development meetings to participating faculty. Due to the need to thoughtfully match mentors and mentees, fellows are onboarded on a semesterly basis. The inaugural cohort is just the beginning. Signal your interest anytime using this form—registrants are placed on our waitlist and invited to join the aforementioned calendar of programming on a semesterly basis as new cohorts begin. Once we receive your form, we will be in touch with next steps. Contact us with any questions: facultyadvancement@columbia.edu.
