The 50amp RV contribution supports the expanded infrastructure required to safely operate higher-capacity RV systems within camp. This includes generator capacity, fuel, heavy-duty electrical distribution, cabling, build and strike labor, monitoring, and the larger placement footprint required for high-demand RV setups.
A 50amp connection provides access to shared camp power designed to support larger RV electrical needs, including multiple appliances and air conditioning systems operating within community usage guidelines.
In addition to electrical infrastructure, RV participants have access to shared water service through a self-fill station, allowing campers to responsibly refill onboard fresh water tanks during the event.
Each RV placement also includes up to three scheduled pump-outs during burn week, coordinated through camp operations to support sanitation, Leave No Trace principles, and overall camp sustainability.
Burning Man infrastructure operates in a temporary desert environment and is not equivalent to commercial RV parks. Power, water, and service systems are shared community resources, and participants are expected to use them responsibly to ensure reliability for everyone.
A single 50amp RV typically utilizes approximately twice the generator capacity and infrastructure resources of a standard 30amp connection, which is reflected in the contribution structure.
