Qualifications for Pro Bono Corporate Counsel of the Year. One of ACC Southern California’s core operating goals is “to encourage public service and a commitment to pro bono service.” In keeping with this goal, ACC Southern California annually recognizes an in-house counsel or legal department that embodies the highest ideals of the legal profession through the nominee’s sustained commitment to voluntary service to others. In presenting the “Justice Award” to a worthy in-house counsel or legal department, ACC Southern California honors the nominee not only for the nominee’s efforts, but also for the ability to inspire others to give of their time and talents. The nominee must have shown exemplary leadership, ability, or determination in providing pro bono/volunteer legal representation and/or community service benefiting Southern California.

The winner of the Justice Award will be announced prior to ACC Southern California’s Annual Gala on Friday, May 8, 2026, and will be honored in person at the event. In addition to receiving the award, the honoree will have the opportunity to select a 501(c)(3) charity to receive a donation
