Houston Area Alumni Chapter of Alabama A&M University Scholarship Application
Houston Area Alumni Chapter of Alabama A&M University is awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors, transfer students and current Alabama A&M students enrolled for the 2026-2027 school year. Please complete the form below no later than 11:59 p.m. CST on April 1, 2026 Award recipients will be notified by May 1st, 2026. Scholarship awards range from $1000-$2500 and will be disbursed for the 2026-2027 academic year by August 15th, 2026. Applicants should have the following credentials: Resident of Houston Metropolitan Area or any of the surrounding counties. Accepted to and entering Alabama A&M University for the 2026-2027 school year. Minimum GPA 3.0 or need based Transcript (all students). Two (2) Letters of recommendation (incoming freshmen only) Essay (incoming freshmen and transfer students).

Scholarship Essay Questions* “What individuals, experiences, or influences motivated your decision to attend Alabama A&M University, what do you hope to gain from your collegiate experience, and how does your intended major or minor reflect your personal aspirations and the significance of your chosen field of study?” Essay Requirements: Format must be 1-2 pages, double spaced 12-point Times New Roman font. Essay should include an introductory paragraph with a clearly stated topic, supporting paragraphs that develop the topic and a concluding paragraph that brings closure to the topic.
