COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS:

This competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (RSOBHD). Categories are defined by the RSOBHD. Groups will be formed at the discretion of the Organizer (DRHDA). DRHDA reserves the right to combine or split groups on the date of the competition as they deem necessary. Numbers will be handed out on the day of the competition.

1.     All dancing events are governed by the rules and regulations of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (RSOBHD) and ScotDance Canada.

2.     This event may be cancelled at any time up to and including on or during the date of competition, dependent upon public health concerns or public safety concerns including extreme weather conditions.

3.     DRHDA, DDSB and Sinclair Secondary School will not be responsible for loss of clothing or injuries to dancers or persons attending this competition.

4.     All dancers must present a valid physical 2026 ScotDance Canada registration card, or proof that one has been applied for on the day of the competition. Any dancer without a card must pay a $10 penalty and have any awards withheld until such time as the dancer presents their valid card.

5.     Registration is deemed complete only after payment has been received.

6.     Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of DRHDA and will be subject to an additional fee of $20 per entry.

7.     No refunds on entry fees.

8.     No status changes on day of competition. Last day for status change is Sunday, May 17th, 2026.

9.     Age is as of 12:01am on competition date.

10. Dancers will compete in inverse order of entry. First to enter is last to dance.

11. Competitors must be on hand when their event is called or forfeit entry in that dance.

12. The decision of the judge(s) is final.

13. Protests must be made in writing, signed and submitted to the Organizer by the end of the competition day and must be accompanied by a $35.00 fee, refundable, if sustained.

  If perpetual trophies are not returned in time to be awarded at the appropriate competition, you will be responsible for getting it to the 2026 winner, including the cost of shipping.
  
  If a dancer does not return a perpetual trophy awarded in the previous year, any subsequent awards will be withheld until the previous year’s trophy is returned to the DRHDA.

- 1. Please ensure that you review your details above and ensure the right number of dancers and fees have been chosen. Changes cannot be made after you proceed to payment.
  2. Registration is deemed complete only AFTER payment has been processed. To process payment, you will be required to submit a credit or debit card payment using PayPal. You are NOT required to have a PayPal account to complete a registration. If you have an existing PayPal account, please use the email associated with that account to register. If you have any issues completing the payment portion of the registration, please register a second time. Should you continue to have issues, please email drhda.treasurer@gmail.com and you will be sent a PayPal invoice to complete the registration process.
