  • Gabriel (Gabe) Briones

My name is Gabriel (Gabe) Briones, my wife Norma and I celebrated 55 years of marriage, moved back to San Antonio from New Orleans 20 years ago.

I retired from the Air Force with 27 years. After my career in the Air Force, I taught Air Force Junior ROTC for 7 years at Edna Karr Secondary School in New Orleans, La.

It has been a pleasure serving on the Board the past 7 years. I have met so many of our wonderful Great Northwest residents.

As a Board member, I have served as a Liaison to the Great Northwest Watch, Coffee with Cops, Citizens on Patrol, Presiding at our Veterans Day Celebration, and Coordinator for our 4th of July Parade, and hosting block parties for Neighbors Together, and volunteered for the Easter Egg hunt, Trick or Trunk on Halloween and Winter Wonderland on Christmas. I am also a proud member of the Owls club.

These are a few of the functions that I am proud to have served and volunteered for the past 7 years on the Board.

If reelected to the Board I will continue to serve the Great Northwest to the best of my ability and work hard for the betterment of our residents.

  • Neil Calderone

I am honored to submit my nomination for the Great Northwest HOA Board of Directors. I currently serve as a Senior Lead Engineer for a Security Operations Center at Booz Allen Hamilton, where I lead high-performing technical teams, manage mission-critical operations, and ensure accountability, compliance, and responsible resource management. My role requires clear communication, disciplined decision-making, and strategic oversight - skills directly applicable to HOA governance.

I am also a proud Army Veteran, having served 5.5 years on Active Duty and 7.5 years in the Army Reserve, where I continue to serve today. My military experience strengthened my commitment to integrity, fiscal responsibility, and servant leadership.

Originally raised in the Chicagoland area, my career has taken my family across the country in service to government and national security missions, including time spent at Goodfellow Air Force Base early in my career. I am grateful to be back in Texas, where my family and I plan to put down roots and grow within this community.

If elected, I will bring strong leadership, operational oversight, transparency, and a long-term commitment to maintaining the quality, safety, and value of our neighborhood.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  • Michael Miraglia

I have been blessed to call the Great Northwest home since September 1987. This neighborhood supported me throughout my years of active-duty service in the United States Air Force and warmly welcomed me following my retirement in April 2003 after 30 years of service. The values I carried from military life-service, responsibility, and respect-are the same values I strive to live each day within this community.

Over the decades, the Great Northwest has become far more than a place to live. It has been a place of friendship, shared experiences, and pride. I have tried to give back in meaningful ways, including volunteering with the community's "A" Team and supporting activities that strengthen neighborhood spirit.

I am grateful for the GNWCIA's recreational opportunities and its close partnership with the San Antonio Fear Free Environment (SAFFE) program, which helps ensure residents remain connected and engaged while enjoying a safe and healthy lifestyle in our beautiful natural surroundings.

You will often see me working in my yard or walking along the Greenbelt and through nearby neighborhoods-from Silver Creek to Emerald Valley-appreciating the scenery and the conversations along the way. Those everyday connections are what make this community special.

Since November 2025, I have served as Vice Chairman of the GNWCIA Architectural Control Committee, and in January 2026 I was honored to be selected as Vice Chairman of the GNWCIA O.W.L.S., continuing my commitment to service.

If selected, I will continue to serve our neighbors with fairness, humility, and respect.

  • Jesse Lopez

Hi, I’m Jesse Lopez. I’m a dedicated family man, a Bexar County AV Team employee, and a proud resident of the Great Northwest. Since moving here, my passion has been giving back in hands-on ways to help build a stronger, more connected neighborhood.

Whether it’s going all-out for the Halloween Decorating Contest (and taking home the win in 2024!), serving on the Architectural Control Committee (ACC), or getting involved with the GNW Watch program, I love finding ways to bring us together. Some of my favorite memories are organizing the Solar Eclipse viewing party at the lodge and hosting our annual Neighbors Together (formerly National Night Out) events right at my home.

I was incredibly humbled to receive the Association's *Rising Star* and *Volunteer of the Year* awards. To me, those awards represent a shared community effort—made possible by the many neighbors who dedicate their time to making this a great place to live. That’s why I’m always happy to volunteer, donate resources, or share my professional AV and IT expertise to support our community events.

I am running for the Board of Directors because I want to foster better communication between residents and the Association, strengthen our neighborhood relationships, and encourage a greater sense of community involvement. I firmly believe that an engaged, well-informed community is the key to ensuring the Great Northwest remains a thriving, united place to call home. I would be honored to have your support.

Choose a Board member below, or write in the name of your own representative, to be your proxy holder
  • OPTION 2B: VOTE FOR THREE DIRECTORS

  • NOTE: If you choose to write in the name of your own representative, you will be required to provide that person's name, e-mail, address, and daytime phone number. These fields will appear when you select "Option 1 > Proxy Holder > Other."

If you select "Other" and then select Option 2 without deselecting "Other," the extra fields may not disappear, but they will be disabled, even if the "Required" asterisk remains.
