• 2026 Mary E. Wood Scholarship Application

    The purpose of the Mary E. Wood Scholarship is to assist students in financing their education at a university, college or trade school. While applications are open to all students, the program is intended to encourage students of color to pursue higher education and therefore preference will be given to Black students. Eligible students must have received either a high school diploma or a high school equivalency general education diploma. The deadline is May 1. Incomplete applications will not be considered - please ensure all information is complete and all requested attachments are included in your submission by May 1 at midnight. Award notification will occur annually in July.
  • All applicants will be required to upload the following attachments with their application:

    • Personal Statement: A narrative (not to exceed 2 pages) in the form of a personal statement. Explain why you feel you should be selected to be a recipient of the Mary E. Wood Scholarship. Discuss your personal and educational goals, motivations, and reasons for pursuing higher education. 
    • Summary of School and Community Involvement/Achievements
    • Copy of Most Recent High School Transcript or HiSet, formerly GED Scores (IF YOU ARE A CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENT, DO NOT UPLOAD YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT) 
    • Copy of Most Recent College Transcripts - (if applicable) unofficial transcripts is acceptable
    • One Academic Letter of Recommendation (teacher/educator)
    • One Personal Letter of Recommendation (from a non-relative)
