Conformation Show Entries

UDC Temperament Test

The UDC requires that all Conformation entries take a UDC Temperament Test (TT) prior to showing; however dogs need not pass to show. TT classes are divided by age and level of training: PTT for the Puppy Classes, YTT for the Youth Classes, ATT for the Adult Classes, or STT for the Working Class. Dogs that have the AFFB, GFFB, DZTP or BSA are automatically eligible for the Working Class without taking the STT. Dogs that have the FFB or BSB do not have to take the ATT. See the UDC Breed Manual available at www.uniteddobermanclub.com for additional details. Non-UDC registered dogs must have proof of titles and papers available for review. All entrants will receive a written evaluation as proof of participation.

UDC Breed Survey - There are titling and health testing prerequisites for entering the Breed Survey. Exhibitors should read the rules carefully to ensure understanding. If you have any questions, please contact the Event Chair. There are two classes for the Breed Survey. Dogs MUST be at least 24 months old and UDC registered to enter. Both classes include a conformation evaluation followed by a sociability and stability evaluation that are identical. The protection evaluation comes at the end of the test, and it is different in each test.

Breed Survey Basic

The Breed Survey Basic (BSB) is for dogs that are untitled/untrained in protection. Dogs must have a minimum of a BH or CD to enter the BSB. Although no grip is required, we HIGHLY ADVISE that your dog has previously demonstrated an ability to counter a serious threat from a stranger brandishing a stick by displaying serious protective behavior prior to entering. Following the threatening attack, the dog must settle within 2 minutes.

Breed Survey Advanced

The Breed Survey Advanced (BSA) is for dogs that have had some protection training. Dogs entering the BSA must have a minimum of a BH. There are two attacks on the dog during the protection evaluation. The dog will be evaluated on its ability to counter each threatening attack with a convincing grip and fight with (padded) stick hits. The dog must demonstrate at least one “OUT” from sleeve. Following the threatening attack, the dog must settle within 2 minutes.
