NC Fair Queen/Teen Pageant Applications

Dear Prospective Contestant,

Thank you for your interest in the 2026 Nicholas County Fair Queen and Pageant and Teen Queen Pageant. Our pageant is open statewide to all West Virginia female residents ages 13-21. This years pageant will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Old Main Theater in Summersville. The contestant’s arrival time is 12 p.m. with pageant beginning at 6 p.m.

The Nicholas County Fair will be held on July 22-25, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Park, Summersville, WV and if crowned the titleholder in your age division you will be required to sign and contract and attend all 4 days of the fair as well as additional appearances throughout the year.

The areas of competition will be:

1. Personal Interview (3 minutes for Teen; 4 minutes for Miss): Each contestant will appear before the judges in a panel style interview. Attire should be age appropriate and professional, something you would wear to a job interview.

2. Personal Sense of Style and on-Stage Question (All Contestants): Each contestant will do an introduction on stage and model Personal Sense of Style. Choose an outfit that best represents you, cocktail dress, jumpsuit, etc. Attire should be age appropriate.

3. On Stage Question (All Contestants): Immediately following Personal Sense of Style modeling, each contestant will answer an on-stage fishbowl style question.

4. Evening Gown (All Contestants): A full length even gown of your choice is required, must be age appropriate. We want you to feel beautiful, elegant and confident during this phase of competition; Chose a color and style gown that best reflects you.

REQUIREMENTS: The Teen Contestants must be 13-15 years of age on the day of the pageant. The Miss contestants must be 16 years of age or not have reached their 22nd birthday by January 1, 2027. Both contestants must have never been married or given birth to a child. Contestants attest they are of good moral character and have not been involved at any time in any act of inappropriate behavior that may bring discredit or harm to the pageant, fair, or its reputation.

All contestants shall refrain from bullying behaviors as this will not be tolerated. If we are made aware of bullying behaviors at any time you will be asked to leave the pageant and NO Refund will be issued.

Prior to the pageant, should any contestant enter and win an affiliated WVAFF Pageant their entry fee will be refunded in full. The contestants who are crowned Nicholas County Fair Queen and Teen Queen will be prohibited from entering any affiliated WVAFF Pageant until after the annual WVAFF State Pageant. Entry fee will NOT be refunded otherwise for any other reason.

PRIZE PACKAGE: The Nicholas County Teen Queen will receive a minimum of $100 cash award at the end of her reign if all activities/duties outlined in her contract have been met, Official Crown, Sash, Sash Pin, Gift Package, Flowers and more. The Nicholas County Fair Queen will receive a minimum of $500 scholarship award at the end of her reign if all activities/duties outlined in her contract have been met, Official Crown, Sash, Sash Pin, flowers, gift package, entry fee and hotel paid for the 2027 WVAFF Pageant, two weekend parent tickets to the 2027 WVAFF Pageant. $200 wardrobe allowance for the 2027 WVAFF Pageant, plus more.

The entry fee is $85 for Teen contestants (13-15 years old) and $110 for Miss contestants (16-21 years old). Both entry form and payment MUST be received to be considered registered for the pageant. The deadline is Friday May 1, 2026, by 11p.m. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY REASON.

Entry fee payment: Once your application is submitted you must complete the entry fee portion. You can do this by sending via Zeffy (this is the preferred payment option) at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/nicholas-co-fair-pageant

You can also mail a check made payable to Nicholas County Fair and to send to Lisa Harris 15 Sanda Lane, Summersville, WV 26651 please include on the memo line of the check Nicholas County Fair Pageant.

I agree to give permission to Lisa Harris, Nicholas County Fair Pageant Director to have my daughter treated by medical personnel if an emergency arises on Saturday June 13th or any other Nicholas County Fair activity.
